1 Simile è il regno de' cieli a uno uomo padre della famiglia, il qual andò una mattina per tempo per conducere laboratori nella vigna sua.	1 The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2 E fatto ch' ebbe il patto (e convenzione) di dar loro uno denaro il dì, mise quelli nella vigna sua.	2 And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 E in su l'ora della terza andò un' altra fiata, e vide altri laboratori stare oziosi nel mercato.	3 And going about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market place idle.
4 E disse a loro andate nella vigna mia, e quello che sarà giusto io darò a voi.	4 And he said to them: Go you also into my vineyard, and I will give you what shall be just.
5 E quelli andarono. Ancora andò un' altra fiata, circa ora di sesta e della nona, 'e fece il simigliante.	5 And they went their way. And again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did in like manner.
6 Ancora all' undecima ora andò, e trovò altri laboratori che stavano oziosi; e disse a loro: perchè state tutto il giorno oziosi?	6 But about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he saith to them: Why stand you here all the day idle?
7 Dissero a lui: nullo ci ha condutti. Ed egli disse a loro: e anche voi andate nella mia vigna.	7 They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard.
8 Ed essendo poi fatto sera, disse il signore della vigna al fattore suo: chiama li laboratori, e dà a loro il prezzo, e comincia da coloro che vennero di sera, e vattene insino alli primi.	8 And when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last even to the first.
9 E incominciando questo fattore, a quelli ch' erano venuti all' undecima ora, dètte a loro tutto il prezzo.	9 When therefore they were come, that came about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10 E vedendo questo, li primi pensavano avere più che quelli ultimi; e non essendo a loro dato più,	10 But when the first also came, they thought that they should receive more: and they also received every man a penny.
11 mormoravano contra il padre della famiglia.	11 And receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,
12 E dicevano: costoro che vennero di sera, hanno lavorato una ora, e ha'li fatti eguali a noi, che abbiamo portato il peso del giorno e del caldo.	12 Saying: These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, that have borne the burden of the day and the heats.
13 E quel rispose a uno di loro; e disse: amico, io non ti fo ingiuria, imperò che hai avuto il denaro come fu patto da te a me.	13 But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny?
14 Tuogli quello che è tuo, e vanne; io voglio dare a quello che venne di sera quello che a te.	14 Take what is thine, and go thy way: I will also give to this last even as to thee.
15 Imperò che mi è lecito di fare quello ch' io voglio. Or che? è il tuo occhio reo e iniquo, perchè io sia buono?	15 Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?
16 Così vi dico che gli ultimi fiano primi, e gli primi ultimi; onde molti sono chiamati, e pochi gli eletti.	16 So shall the last be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.
17 Andò Iesù in Ierusalem, e chiamò a sè da parte li duodeci suoi discepoli, e disse a loro:	17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples apart, and said to them:
18 Ecco che noi andiamo in Ierusalem; il Figliuolo dell' uomo sarà tradito, e dato nelle mani de' principi e sacerdoti e de' Scribi; ed egli lo condanneranno a morte.	18 Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death.
19 E daranlo nelle mani delle genti, ed egli lo scherniranno e flagelleranno e crucifigeranno; e poi il terzo giorno resusciterà.	19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to be mocked, and scourged, and crucified, and the third day he shall rise again.
20 E in quella andò a lui la madre de' figliuoli di Zebedeo co' suoi figliuoli, e adorollo, e domandogli alcuna grazia.	20 Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him.
21 E Iesù le disse: che addimandi tu? Ed ella disse: dite che questi miei duoi figliuoli siedano, l'uno dalla tua mano diritta, o l' altro dal lato tuo manco nel regno tuo.	21 Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom.
22 E Iesù disse: voi non sapete quello che voi addomandate. E poi disse a loro: (potete voi bevere) il calice il qual beverò io? Ed egli (risposero e) dissero possiamo.	22 And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can.
23 E Iesù disse loro: il calice mio bene beverete; ma il sedere dal lato mio diritto, o dal lato manco, non sta a me dare a voi, ma sta a dare al Padre mio a coloro a cui egli l'ha apparecchiato.	23 He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father.
24 E udendo questo, li dieci discepoli indignoronsi di questi duoi fratelli.	24 And the ten hearing it, were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
25 Ma Iesù li chiamò e disso a loro: non sapete voi che li signori delle genti signoreggiano loro sudditi, e coloro che sono maggiori usano signoria sopra li minori?	25 But Jesus called them to him, and said: You know that the princes of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they that are the greater, exercise power upon them.
26 Ma non sarà così infra voi; anzi chi vorrà infra voi essere il maggiore, sarà il minore.	26 It shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be the greater among you, let him be your minister:
27 E chi vorrà di voi essere il primo, sarà vostro servo.	27 And he that will be first among you, shall be your servant.
28 E così il Figliuolo dell' uomo non è per essere servito, ma per servire, e per dare l' anima sua in recomperamento di molti.	28 Even as the Son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many.
29 E uscendo quelli fuora di Ierico, seguillo una molta turba.	29 And when they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 Ecco che due ciechi, che sedevano appresso la via, udittero come Iesù passasse, e gridorono, dicendo: Signore, abbi misericordia di noi, o figliuolo di David.	30 And behold two blind men sitting by the way side, heard that Jesus passed by, and they cried out, saying: O Lord, thou son of David, have mercy on us.
31 Ma la turba li riprendeva, che dovessero tacere; ma quelli più forte gridavano, dicendo: Signore, abbi misericordia di noi, o figliuolo di David.	31 And the multitude rebuked them that they should hold their peace. But they cried out the more, saying: O Lord, thou son of David, have mercy on us.
32 E fermossi Iesù, e chiamolli, dicendo: che volete ch' io vi facci?	32 And Jesus stood, and called them, and said: What will ye that I do to you?
33 E quelli dissero: Signore, che siano aperti gli occhi nostri.	33 They say to him: Lord, that our eyes be opened.
34 E Iesù ebbeli misericordia, e toccò li loro occhi; e incontanente videro, e seguirono lui.	34 And Jesus having compassion on them, touched their eyes. And immediately they saw, and followed him.
