1 Guai a te, città di sangue; tu, bugiarda, piena di dilacerazione; e non si partirà da te la rapina.	1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;
2 La voce del flagello, e la voce dell' impeto della ruota, e del cavallo resonante, e del carro stridente, e del cavalcatore salente (a cavallo),	2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.
3 e dello lucente coltello, e dell' asta folgorante, e della moltitudine uccisa, e della grande rovina; e non è fine de' corpi morti, e cadranno ne' corpi loro.	3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
4 Per la moltitudine delle fornicazioni della bella e graziosa meretrice, la quale ha i maleficii, e hae venduto le genti nelle sue fornicazioni, e le famiglie ne' suoi maleficii;	4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
5 ecco io vegno a te, dice il Signore delli esèrciti, e scoprirò le tue disonestadi nella faccia tua, e mostrerò alle genti la nudità tua, e a' reami la (vergogna e) il vituperio tuo.	5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
6 E gitterò sopra te le abominazioni, e affliggerò te colle contumelie, (cioè con parole ingiuriose e vituperose), e porrotti in esempio.	6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
7 E sarà che ogni uomo, che ti vedrà, sì ritornerà dirietro da te, e dirà: guasta è Ninive; chi commoverà sopra te il capo? onde (di che luogo) cercherò a te consolatore?	7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
8 Or se' tu migliore che Alessandria, la quale ebbe di sotto da sè molti popoli, la quale abita nei fiumi? le acque sono nel circuito suo, alla quale vengono per mare le ricchezze, e l'acque sono le mura sue.	8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
9 Etiopia e l'Egitto sono la fortezza sua, e non ha fine (la fortezza sua, e non ha fine la fortezza e la ricchezza sua); Africa e Libia furono in tuo adiutorio (cioè d'Alessandria).	9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
10 Ma ella fu menata in transmigrazione in prigione; i parvoli suoi furono percossi in capo di tutte le vie, e sopra i nobil? cittadini suoi misono le sorti, e tutti i migliori e più degni furono messi co' piedi nelli ceppi (e nelli ferri).	10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
11 E tu adunque sarai inebriata, e sarai dispetta; e domanderai adiutorio dal nimico.	11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
12 Tutte le munizioni (e le fortezze) tue saranno come il fico coi fichi suoi primaticci; li quali sì saranno scossi, e cadranno nella bocca di colui che gli mangia.	12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
13 Ecco, il popolo tuo diventerà vile come le femmine nel mezzo di te; le porte della terra tua saranno aperte alli nimici tuoi; il fuoco divorerà li chiavistelli tuoi.	13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
14 Attigniti l'acqua per l'assedio, ed edifica le fortezze tue; entra nel luto, e calcalo; e commettendolo sotto i piedi, fanne mattoni.	14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.
15 Qui ti mangerà il fuoco, e perirai di coltello; e divoreratti come è divorato il bruco; raccogliti insieme come fa il bruco, e multiplica come il grillo.	15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
16 Tu hai fatti più traffichi, che non sono le stelle del cielo; il bruco [si] sparse, e volò.	16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.
17 Le guardie tue sono come grilli; i parvoli tuoi sono come li figliuoli de' grilli, i quali si stanno nelle siepi nel dì del freddo; levossi il sole, e loro volarono, e non fu conosciuto il luogo loro dove fussono stati.	17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
18 I tuoi pastori, o re d' Assur, si sono addormentati; e' tuoi principi saranno sepolti; il tuo popolo s'è nascoso ne' monti, e non è chi lo raduni.	18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
19 Non è oscura la distruzione tua; pessima è la piaga tua; tutti coloro che hanno udito quello che si dice di te, hanno premuta la mano sopra di te; però che sopra cui non è sempre passata la malizia tua?	19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
