1 Queste sono le generazioni di Aaron e di Moisè, che si trovarono quando Iddio parlò a Moisè nel monte Sinai.	1 These are the generations of Aaron and Moses, in the day when the Lord spoke to Moses on mount Sinai.
2 E questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli di Aaron: lo primogenito fu Nadab; e dopo questo, Abiu, Elea zar, Itamar.	2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 E questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli d'Aaron sacerdoti, li quali furono unti, e consecrate le mani, acciò che facessero lo sacrificio.	3 These the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed and whose hands were filled and consecrated in order to exercise the priesthood.
4 E morirono Nadab e Abiu, quando offereano lo fuoco d'altrui a Dio nel diserto di Sinai; e mo rirono senza figliuoli. E fecero l'officio loro Eleazar e Itamar in presenza del padre.	4 For Nadab and Abihu died without children, when they offered, in the sight of the Lord, a strange fire, in the desert of Sinai. And so, Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the sight of Aaron, their father.
5 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli:	5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 Congiugni insieme la schiatta di Levi, e fagli stare nel cospetto d'Aaron sacerdote, acciò che il servano, e che giacciano, (e stiano)	6 “Bring forward the tribe of Levi, and cause them to stand in the sight of Aaron the priest, in order to minister to him. And let them keep watch outside,
7 e facciano ciò che appartiene all'officio del tabernacolo,	7 and let them observe whatever pertains to the ritual for the multitude, in front of the tabernacle of the testimony,
8 e custodiscano li vasi del tabernacolo, servendo nello suo ministerio.	8 and let them take care of the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in its ministry.
9 E darai lo dono a' figliuoli di Levi,	9 And you shall give the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons; for they have been delivered to them by the sons of Israel.
10 e Aaron, dei quali ti sono dati da' figliuoli d'Israel; ed Aaron e i figliuoli ordinerai nelli uffici sacerdotali; e se niuno altro istrano andasse a mini strare l'officio, incontanente morrà.	10 But you shall appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of priesthood. The outsider who approaches to minister shall be put to death.”
11 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e disse:	11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
12 Io tolsi quelli di Levi dagli altri figliuoli d'Israel, per tutti i primigeniti che sono nati infra i figliuoli d'Israel; e saranno i Leviti miei.	12 “I have taken the Levites from the sons of Israel. For the Levites, and all the firstborn who open the womb among the sons of Israel, shall be mine.
13 Perciò che tutti i primigeniti sono miei, dopo ch' io percossi i primigeniti della terra d'Egitto, (per liberarli delle loro mani). Io m' hoe santificato (cioè preso per primizia) tutto ciò che nasce in prima, dall'uomo insino al bestiame, (d'ogni generazione); però ch' io sono il loro Iddio.	13 For every firstborn is mine. From the time that I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I have sanctified for myself whatever is born first in Israel. From man, even to beast, they are mine. I am the Lord.”
14 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli nel deserto di Sinai:	14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:
15 Annumera i figliuoli di Levi per famiglie e per case e per ogni congregazione mascolina, da uno mese in su.	15 “Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and above.”
16 E annumerogli Moisè, come Iddio comandò.	16 Moses numbered them, just as the Lord had instructed,
17 E trovogli per nome, cioè di Gerson, Caat e Merari.	17 and there were found the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.
18 Li figliuoli di Gerson: Lebni e Semei.	18 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei.
19 Li figliuoli di Caat: Amram e Iesaar, Ebron e Oziel.	19 The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
20 Li figliuoli di Merari: Mooli e Musi.	20 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi.
21 Di Gerson furono due famiglie, la Lebnitica e la Semeitica.	21 From Gershon were two families: the Libnites, and the Shimeites.
22 Delle quali sono annumerati i maschii, d'uno mese in su, VII milia e cinquecento.	22 The people of these were numbered, of the male sex, from one month and above: seven thousand five hundred.
23 Questi abitaranno dietro al tabernacolo dalla parte d'occidente.	23 These shall encamp behind the tabernacle, toward the west,
24 Loro principe sarà Eliasaf figliuolo di Lael.	24 under the leader Eliasaph the son of Lael.
25 E avranno guardia del tabernacolo santo,	25 And they shall keep watch over the tabernacle of the covenant:
26 e lo tabernacolo suo, e lo suo coprimento, e lo tetto ch' è innanzi alla porta del tabernacolo e della cortina d'intorno, e la tenda che si pone (e la cortina) nello entrare del tabernacolo, e ciò che s'appartiene nello adornamento (del luogo) dell' altare, e le funi del tabernacolo, e tutto ciò che dentro vi s'usa.	26 the tabernacle itself, and its covering; the tent that is drawn before the doors of the covering of the covenant; and the curtains of the atrium; likewise, the tent that is suspended at the entrance of the atrium of the tabernacle; and whatever pertains to the ritual of the altar; the cords of the tabernacle and all its implements.
27 La schiatta di Caat avrà seco lo popolo di Amramiti e di Iesaariti e di Ebroniti e di Ozieliti. Queste sono le famiglie di Caatiti, annumerati (e trovati) per li nomi suoi;	27 The kinship of Kohath includes the peoples of the Amramites and Izharites and Hebronites and Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites, having been counted by their names,
28 tutti maschi da uno mese in su, otto migliaia secento.	28 all those of the male gender, from one month and above: eight thousand six hundred. They shall keep watch over the Sanctuary,
29 Costoro abitaranno dalla parte del mezzo giorno del tabernacolo.	29 and they shall encamp toward the south side.
30 E loro principe sarà Elisafan figliuolo di Oziel.	30 And their leader shall be Elisaphan the son of Uzziel.
31 E guarderanno l'arca e la mensa e lo candeliere e gli altri vasi dello sacrificio, e ogni cosa con che s'amministra, e il velo, e tutte cotali cose.	31 And they shall take care of the ark, and the table and the lampstand, the altars and the vessels of the Sanctuary, by which they minister, and the veil, and all the articles of this kind.
32 Lo principe de principi de’ Leviti sarà Eleazar, figliuolo di Aaron sacerdote; ed egli sarà sopra le guardie del tabernacolo.	32 But the leader of the leaders of the Levites, Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over those who watch over the care of the Sanctuary.
33 E la schiatta di Merari saranno col popolo de' Mooliti e de' Musiti; e annumerati per li loro nomi,	33 And truly, from Merari are the peoples of the Mahlites and Mushites, having been counted by their names,
34 e i loro maschi, da uno mese in su, furono sei migliaia e CC.	34 all those of the male gender, from one month and above: six thousand two hundred.
35 E il loro principe sarà Suriel figliuolo di Abiaiel; costoro abiteranno dalla parte di settentrione.	35 Their leader is Suriel the son of Abihaiel. They shall make camp on the north side.
36 E guarderanno le tavole del tabernacolo e le stanghe e le colonne e li capitelli e le cornici, e tutto quello che a questo s'appartiene,	36 Under their care shall be the panels of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the columns with their bases, and all the things which pertain to service of this kind,
37 e le colonne dell' atrio, con tutte le cornici (e li capitelli) e le cavicchie e le funi.	37 and the columns of the surrounding atrium with their bases, and the tent pegs with their cords.
38 Poseranno innanzi allo tabernacolo, dalla parte d'oriente; Moisè e Aaron colli suoi figliuoli avranno guardia del santuario nel mezzo del popolo d'Israel; e se alcuno altro entrasse, incontanente morrebbe.	38 Moses and Aaron, with their sons, shall make camp before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is, on the east side, holding the custody of the Sanctuary in the midst of the sons of Israel. Whatever foreigner approaches it shall die.
39 E tutti quelli che annumerò Moisè e Aaron della schiatta di Levi, secondo lo comandamento di Dio, che maschio fosse, da uno mese in su, [furono] XXII milia.	39 All the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by their families according to the precept of the Lord, of the male gender, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand.
40 E disse Iddio a Moisè: annumera tutti i primigeniti maschi, da uno mese in su, de' figliuoli d'Israel; e sappia la somma quanti sono.	40 And the Lord said to Moses: “Number the firstborn of the male sex from the sons of Israel, from one month and above, and you shall take their total.
41 E quelli de Levi torra' per me, (però ch' io gli voglio) per ogni primogenito de' figliuoli d'Israel. E io sono Iddio. E le loro pecore voglio per lo pri mogenito delle pecore de' figliuoli d'Israel.	41 And you shall bring the Levites to me, in place of all the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and you shall bring their cattle to me, in place of all the firstborn of the cattle of the sons of Israel. I am the Lord.”
42 Annumerogli Moisè, secondo che Iddio gli disse.	42 Moses took a census, just as the Lord had instructed, of the firstborn of the sons of Israel.
43 E trovò tutti i maschii, da uno mese in su, XXII milia e ccLXXIII.	43 And the males by their names, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.
44 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli:	44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
45 Togli il popolo di Levi per li primigeniti del popolo d'Israel, e le loro pecore per le loro pecore; e i Leviti saranno miei; e io sarò Iddio loro (se loro osserveranno i miei comandamenti).	45 “Take the Levites, in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites, in place of their cattle, and so the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.
46 Per prezzo di quelli ccLxxIII, che furono più nel popolo d'Israel, che non sono i Leviti,	46 But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, which exceed the number of the Levites compared to the number of firstborn of the sons of Israel,
47 torrai cinque sicli (cioè moneta) per ciascheduna persona, a misura del santuario; e ogni siclo vale XX oboli (ciò sono loro denari).	47 you shall take five shekels for each head, by the measure of the Sanctuary. A shekel has twenty obols.
48 E questa pecunia darai ad Aaron e a' suoi figliuoli, per lo prezzo di coloro che sono più.	48 And you shall give the money to Aaron and his sons as the price of those that are in excess.”
49 Tolse adunque Moisè la pecunia di quelli che furono più, e quelli che furono redenti dai Leviti	49 Therefore, Moses took the money for those that were in excess, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites
50 [ per li ] primogenti de' figliuoli d'Israel, McccLxv sicli, secondo il peso del santuario.	50 in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel: one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, according to the weight of the Sanctuary.
51 E diedegli ad Aaron e a' suoi figliuoli, secondo che Iddio comandò.	51 And he gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word by which the Lord had instructed him.
