Osea 8

1 Ma nella tua gola sia una tuba, sia come una aquila sopra la casa del Signore, (cioè che la tua gola sia come una tromba a gridare, e istia sopra la casa del Signore), però che hanno travalicato lo mio patto e la mia legge.	1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2 Lore chiamaranno me, (dicendo): o Signore Iddio, noi abbiamo conosciuto te.	2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3 Israel ha gettato da sè lo bene; e lo inimico perseguiterà lui.	3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 Loro regnarono, ma non per me; e furono principi, ma io non li conobbi; dello loro oro e dello. loro ariento sì feciono idoli a sè, acciò che perissino.	4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 O Samaria, lo tuo vitello sì è gittato via; e lo mio furore sì ha preso ira contro a loro; o per che non poterono essere mondati (e sanati)?	5 Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6 Però che esso è d' Israel; l'artefice fece questo, e non è Iddio; però che nelle tele de' ragni sarà lo vitello di Samaria.	6 For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Però che semineranno vento, e mieteranno tempesta; e non averanno copertura, e lo formento non farà farina; e se pure ne farà, li stranieri la mangeranno.	7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8 E Israel è divorato; e ora è fatto come uno vaso fastidioso e brutto tra le nazioni.	8 Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9 Però che loro andarono in Assur (cioè in quella contrada); ed Efraim è fatto come l'asino. salvatico solitario (cioè come quello animale, che ha la natura ch' io assegnai nell' Ieremia); e diedono li doni alli amatori.	9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10 E allogarono la gente con prezzo; ora io li radunerò, e riposerannosi un poco dalle fatiche dello. re e delli principi.	10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11 Però che Efraim sì ha moltiplicato li altari per peccare; e le are sono loro fatte per peccare.	11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12 Io scriverò a lui molte mie leggi, le quali sono riputate come istraniere.	12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
13 Loro portaranno le ostie, e offeriranno la carne e mangerannola, e lo Signore non li riceverà; ora egli si ricorderà delle loro malvagitadi, e visiterae loro peccati; loro si convertiranno in Egitto.	13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14 E Israel dimenticò io suo fattore, ed edificò li templi; e Giuda moltiplicò le cittadi armate; e metterò fuoco nelle sue cittadi, e divorerà le sue case.	14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
