1 E fatta è la parola del Signore a Ieremia nell' anno quarto di Ioachim, figliuolo di Iosia, [re di Giuda], dicendo:	1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, that this word came to Jeremias by the Lord, saying:
2 Tuogli lo volume del libro, e scrivi in quello tutte le parole che io hoe parlato a te incontro a Israel e Giuda, e incontro a tutte le genti, dal dì ch' io parlai a te, dal tempo di Iosia insino a (questo tempo e in) questo dì:	2 Take thee a roll of a book, and thou shalt write in it all the words that I have spoken to thee against Israel and Juda, and against all the nations from the day that I spoke to thee, from the days of Josias even to this day.
3 se forse udendo la casa di Giuda tutti li mali i quali io penso di fare loro, ritorni ciascuno dalla via sua pessima; e al loro peccato e alla loro iniquità perdonarei.	3 If so be, when the house of Juda shall hear all the evils that I purpose to do unto them, that they may return every man from his wicked way: and I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin.
4 E Ieremia chiamò Baruc, figliuolo di Neria; e Baruc scrisse della bocca di Ieremia tutte queste (cose e) parole [del Signore], le quali egli parlò, nel volume del libro.	4 So Jeremias called Baruch the son of Nerias: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremias all the words of the Lord, which he spoke to him, upon the roll of a book.
5 E comandò Ieremia a Baruc, dicente: io sono rinchiuso, e non posso entrare nella casa del Signore.	5 And Jeremias commanded Baruch, saying: I am shut up, and cannot go into the house of the Lord.
6 Adunque entra tu, e leggi nel volume (del libro) nel quale tu scrivesti queste parole di Dio della mia bocca, udendoti lo populo nella casa [del Signore] nel dì del digiuno; e anche udendoti tutto l'universo [populo] di Giuda, i quali vengono dalle loro cittadi; e leggerai a loro;	6 Go thou in therefore, and read out of the volume, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of all the people in the house of the Lord on the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the hearing of all Juda that come out of their cities:
7 se forse caggia la loro orazione nel conspetto di Dio, e ritorni ciascuno dalla via sua pessima; però che grande è il furore e la indignazione, la quale Iddio hae parlato incontro a questo populo.	7 If so be they may present their supplication before the Lord, and may return every one from his wicked way: for great is the wrath and indignation which the Lord hath pronounced against this people.
8 E fece Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, secondo tutte le parole che gli comandò Ieremia profeta, leggendo lo volume e le parole di Dio nella casa di Dio.	8 And Baruch the son of Nerias did according to all that Jeremias the prophet had commanded him, reading out of the volume the words of the Lord in the house of the Lord.
9 E fu fatto nell' anno quinto di Ioachim, figliuolo di Iosia, re di Giuda nel mese nono, predicando lo digiuno nel conspetto di Dio a tutto il populo in Ierusalem, e a tutta la moltitudine la quale era venuta delle città di Giuda in Ierusalem.	9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that were come together out of the cities of Juda to Jerusalem.
10 E Baruc leggeo nel volume le parole di leremia nella casa di Dio, nel gazofilacio di Gamaria, figliuolo di Safan, scriba, nell' antiporto di sopra, nello introito della porta nuova della casa di Dio, udendo tutto il populo.	10 And Baruch read out of the volume the words of Jeremias in the house of the Lord, in the treasury of Gamarias the son of Saphan the scribe, in the upper court, in the entry of the new gate of the house of the Lord, in the hearing of all the people.
11 E quando udio Michea, figliuolo di [Gamaria figliuolo di] Safan, tutte le parole dello libro,	11 And when Micheas the son of Gamarias the son of Saphan had heard out of the book all the words of the Lord,
12 discese nella casa dello re, al gazofilacio (cioè a quello luogo dove si mettono le ricchezze); ed ecco ivi tutti li prìncipi sedeano: Elisama scriba, e Dalaia figliuolo di Semeia, ed Elnatan figliuolo di Acobor, e Gamaria figliuolo di Safan, e Sedecia figliuolo d' Anania, e tutti li universi principi.	12 He went down into the king's house to the secretary's chamber: and behold all the princes sat there, Elisama the scribe, and Dalaias the son of Semeias, and Elnathan the son of Achobor, and Gamarias the son of Saphan, and Sedecias the son of Hananias, and all the princes.
13 E Michea annunciò tutte le parole, che udio leggere a Baruc del volume nelli orecchi del popolo.	13 And Micheas told them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read out of the volume in the hearing of the people.
14 E mandarono tutti li principi (della terra) a Baruc [Iudi], figliuolo di Natania, figliuolo di Selemia, figliuolo di Cusi, dicendo: lo volume, lo quale leggesti udendo lo populo, piglialo nella tua mano, e vieni a noi. E portò Baruc figliuolo di Neria lo volume nella sua mano, e venne a loro.	14 Therefore all the princes sent Judi the son of Nathanias, the son of Selemias, the son of Chusi, to Baruch, saying: Take in thy hand the volume in which thou hast read in the hearing of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Nerias took the volume in his hand, and came to them.
15 E dissono a lui: siedi, e leggi queste cose nelli nostri orecchi. E leggeo Baruc nelli loro orecchie.	15 And they said to him: Sit down and read these things in our hearing. And Baruch read in their hearing.
16 E quando ebbono udite tutte le parole, ciascuno (si maravigliò, e) fu stupefatto inverso al suo prossimo, e dissono a Baruc: noi doviamo annunciare allo re tutte queste cose.	16 And when they had heard all the words, they looked upon one another with astonishment, and they said to Baruch: We must tell the king all these words.
17 .... parole della sua bocca.	17 And they asked him, saying: Tell us how didst thou write all these words from his mouth.
18 E Baruc disse a loro: egli parlava, quasi leggendo a me queste parole, e io le scrivea nel volume collo inchiostro.	18 And Baruch said to them: With his mouth he pronounced all these words as if he were reading to me: and I wrote in a volume with ink.
19 E dissono (tutti) li principi a Baruc: va, e nasconditi tu e Ieremia, sì che nessuno uomo non sappia dove siate.	19 And the princes said to Baruch: Go, and hide thee, both thou and Jeremias, and let no man know where you are.
20 Ed entrarono allo re nel cammino; e accomandarono il volume, nella conserva della moneta, a Elisama scriba; e dissono, udendo lo re, tutte queste parole.	20 And they went in to the king into the court: but they laid up the volume in the chamber of Elisama the scribe: and they told all the words in the hearing of the king.
21 E mandò lo re Iudi per avere lo volume di quello luogo di Elisama scriba; e lesselo [Iudi], udendo lo re e tutti li principi che stavano intorno. allo re.	21 And the king sent Judi that he should take the volume: who bringing it out of the chamber of Elisama the scribe, read it in the hearing of the king, and of all the princes that stood about the king.
22 E lo re sedeva nella casa nel mese nono, ed era d'inverno; ed era posto uno focolare pieno di carboni innanzi a lui.	22 Now the king sat in the winter house, In the ninth month: and there was a hearth before him full of burning coals.
23 E quando [Iudi] ebbe letto (io vidi) tre bollettini ovvero quattro, e' tagliolli con lo scopello del scriba, e gittolli nel fuoco, insino a tanto che si consumasse tutto lo volume al fuoco il quale era nel focolare.	23 And when Judi had read three or four pages, he cut it with the penknife, and he cast it into the Are, that was upon the hearth, till all the volume was consumed with the fire that was on the hearth.
24 E non temerono, e non squarciarono loro vestimenta, lo re e tutti i suoi servi, i quali udirono tutti questi sermoni.	24 And the king and all his servants that heard all these words were not afraid, nor did they rend their garments.
25 Ma Elnatan e Dalaia e Gamaria contraddissono al re, che non ardesse lo libro; e non li udìo.	25 But yet Elnathan, and Dalaias, and Gamarias spoke to the king, not to burn. the book: and he heard them not.
26 E comandò lo re a Ieremiel figliuolo di Amalec, e a Saraia [figliuolo di] Ezriel, e a Selemia figliuolo d' Abdeel, che pigliassono Baruc scriba, e Ieremia profeta; ma Iddio li nascose.	26 And the king commanded Jeremiel the son of Amelech, and Saraias the son of Ezriel, and Selemias the son of Abdeel, to take up Baruch the scribe, and Jeremias the prophet: but the Lord hid them.
27 E disse Iddio a Ieremia profeta, poi che lo re avea arso lo volume e le parole che Baruc avea scritte della bocca di Ieremia, dicendo:	27 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias the prophet, after that the king had burnt the volume, and the words that Baruch had written from the mouth of Jeremias, saying:
28 Anche tolli un altro volume, e scrivi tutti li parlari li quali erano nel primo volume, lo quale arse Ioachim re di Giuda.	28 Take thee again another volume: and write in it all the former words that were in the first volume which Joakim the king of Juda hath burnt.
29 E dirai a Ioachim, re di Giuda questo dice Iddio tu ardesti quello volume, dicendo: per che scrivesti quello, annunciando: lo re di Babilonia verrà tosto, e guasterà questa terra, e farà cessare da lei lo uomo e le giumente?	29 And thou shalt say to Joakim the king of Juda: Thus saith the Lord: Thou hast burnt that volume, saying: Why hast thou written therein, and said: The king of Babylon shall come speedily, and shall lay waste this land: and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
30 Però questo dice lo Signore Iddio contro a Ioachim re di Giuda: non sarà di lui chi segga sopra la sedia di David, e lo suo corpo sarà gittato al caldo per tutto lo dì, e al gelo per tutta la notte.	30 Therefore thus saith the Lord against Joakim the king of Juda: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out to the heat by day, and to the frost by night.
31 E visiterò contro a lui e contro al suo seme e contro alli suoi servi nelle sue iniquitadi; e adducerò sopra loro, e sopra li abitatori di Ierusalem, e sopra li (abitatori delli) uomini di Giuda tutto lo male, ch' io hoe parlato, e non mi udirono.	31 And I will punish him, and his seed and his servants, for their iniquities, and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Juda all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they have not heard.
32 E Ieremia tolse l' altro volume, e diedelo a Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, scriba; il quale scrisse in quello volume della bocca di Ieremia tutti li sermoni del libro, il quale avea arso Ioachim re di Giuda al fuoco; e anche vi sono aggiunti molti più sermoni di quelli (di Ieremia) i quali erano innanzi.	32 And Jeremias took another volume, and gave it to Baruch the son of Nerias the scribe: who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremias all the words of the book which Joakim the king of Juda had burnt with fire: and there were added besides many more words than had been before.
