BIBBIA VOLGARE	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Separati Nadab e Abiù figliuoli di Aaron, e levatisi ritti, posero lo fuoco e lo incenso di sopra ne' loro turiboli, offerendo il fuoco forestiero in presenza d'Iddio; il quale non era loro comandato.	1 And Nadab and Abiu, the sons of Aaron, taking their censers, put fire therein, and incense on it, offering before the Lord strange fire: which was not commanded them.
2 E venne lo fuoco da Dio, e arseli; e morirono nella presenza di Dio.	2 And fire coming out from the Lord destroyed them, and they died before the Lord.
3 E Moisè disse ad Aaron: questo è quello che Iddio hae parlato: io mi santificherò in quelli che s'approssimeranno a me, e nel cospetto del popolo ancora mi glorierò. E udendo questo, Aaron istette cheto.	3 And Moses said to Aaron: This is what the Lord hath spoken: I will be sanctified in them that approach to me, and I will be glorified in the sight of all the people. And when Aaron heard this, he held his peace.
4 E Moisè chiamò Misaele ed Eisafan, figliuoli di Oziel avolo di Aaron, e disse loro: andate e tol lete i vostri fratelli dinnanzi al santuario, e porta tegli fuori degli alloggiamenti.	4 And Moses called Misael and Elisaphan, the sons of Oziel, the uncle of Aaron, and said to them: Go and take away your brethren from before the sanctuary, and carry them without the camp.
5 E incontanente andarono, e tolsergli siccome istavano vestiti di lino, e portarongli fuori, secondo che a loro fu comandato.	5 And they went forthwith and took them as they lay, vested with linen tunicks, and cast them forth, as had been commanded them.
6 E Moisè parlò ad Aaron, e a Eleazar e ad Itamar suoi figliuoli, e disse: li capi vostri non vogliate scoprire, e le vestimenta vostre non squarciate, chè forse morireste, e forse ne potrebbe na scere sopra tutta la turba indignazione. E i vostri fratelli e i figliuoli d'Israel piangano lo incendio che Iddio suscitò.	6 And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons: Uncover not your heads, and rend not your garments, lest perhaps you die, and indignation come upon all the congregation. Let your brethren, and all the house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled:
7 Voi non uscirete fuori del tabernacolo, però che potreste perire; l'olio dell' unzione santa è sopra voi. E fecero secondo lo comandamento di Moisè.	7 But you shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle, otherwise you shall perish, for the oil of the holy unction is on you. And they did all things according to the precept of Moses.
8 E Iddio disse ad Aaron:	8 The Lord also said to Aaron:
9 Vino, e ogni cosa che potesse inebriare, non berai tu nè i tuoi figliuoli, quando entrerete nel tabernacolo della testimonianza, acciò che non mo riate: però che legge è posta alla tua generazione in sempiterno.	9 You shall not drink wine nor any thing that may make drunk, thou nor thy sons, when you enter into the tabernacle of the testimony, lest you die: because it is an everlasting precept through your generations :
10 E questo fue, perchè abbiate scienza di conoscere (lo savio dallo stolto, e) il buono dallo rio, e la oblazione immacolata dalla macolata,	10 And that you may have knowledge to discern between holy and unholy, between unclean and clean:
11 e insegnate ai figliuoli d'Israel ogni legge mia, ch' io ho data loro per Moisè.	11 And may teach the children of Israel all my ordinances which the Lord hath spoken to them by the hand of Moses.
12 E parlò Moisè ad Aaron, e ad Eleazar e Itamar, suoi figliuoli che gli erano rimasi: tollete lo sacrificio ch' è rimasto della oblazione del Signore, e mangiatelo senza levame appo all'altare, perciò che è santo di santi (cioè di cosa santa).	12 And Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons that were left: Take the sacrifice that is remaining of the oblation of the Lord, and eat it without leaven beside the altar, because it is holy of holies.
13 E mangiatela in luogo santo, nel quale t'è dato (da Dio) a te e a' tuoi figliuoli della oblazione del Signore, nel modo che a me fu comandato.	13 And you shall eat it in a holy place: which is given to thee and thy sons of the oblations of the Lord, as it hath been commanded me.
14 Lo petto ch' è offerto, e la spalla ch' è separata, la mangerete in luogo mondissimo tu e li tuoi figliuoli e le tue figliuole teco. A te e alli tuoi figliuoli è riposta della oblazione salutare ch' è fatta per lo popolo d'Israel.	14 The breast also that is offered, and the shoulder that is separated, you shall eat in a most clean place, thou and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee. For they are set aside for thee and thy children, of the victims of peace offerings of the children of Israel:
15 Però che la spalla e lo petto e la grassa, che si ardono in su l'altare, elevarono dinnanzi al Signore, e s'appartenerà a te e a' tuoi figliuoli; e in questo sarà legge perpetua, secondo che Iddio hae comandato.	15 Because they have elevated before the Lord the shoulder and the breast, and the fat that is burnt on the altar, and they belong to thee and to thy sons by a perpetual law, as the Lord hath commanded.
16 Infra di questo lo becco, che fue offerto per lo peccato, lo domandò Moisè, e trovollo arso; e adirossi contra Eleazar e Itamar, figliuoli d'Aaron i quali erano rimasti; e disse loro:	16 While these things were a doing, when Moses sought for the buck goat, that had been offered for sin, he found it burnt: and being angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, he said:
17 Perchè non mangiaste voi la oblazione ch' era fatta per lo peccato (come io vi dissi) nel luogo santo, la quale è santa di santi? Ella sì v'è data, perchè voi portiate la iniquità del popolo, e che preghiate per loro nel cospetto di Dio,	17 Why did you not eat in the holy place the sacrifice for sin, which is most holy, and given to you, that you may bear the iniquity of the people, and may pray for them in the sight of the Lord,
18 specialmente che del sangue della bestia non sia portato nella terra santa, e dobbiate mangiare nel santuario, come mi fue comandato.	18 Especially whereas none of the blood thereof hath been carried within the holy places, and you ought to have eaten it in the sanctuary, as was commanded me?
19 Aaron rispose: oggi ci fu offerta una bestia per lo peccato nel sacrificio dinnanzi a Dio; e a me sì è avvenuto quello che tu hae veduto; come avrei potuto mangiarla, e fare festa, colla mente adirata?	19 Aaron answered: This day hath been offered the victim for sin, and the holocaust before the Lord: and to me what thou seest has happened: how could I eat it, or please the Lord in the ceremonies, having a sorrowful heart?
20 Vedendo questo, Moisè fu placato.	20 Which when Moses had heard he was satisfied.
