Salmi 93

1 Iddio è Signore delle vendette; Iddio delle vendette ha operato liberamente.	1 A Psalm of David himself. The Fourth Sabbath. The Lord is the God of retribution. The God of retribution acts in order to deliver.
2 Lèvati, il quale giudichi la terra; rendi la retribuzione alli superbi.	2 Lift yourself up, for you judge the earth. Repay the arrogant with retribution.
3 Insino quando li peccatori, o Signore, insino quando li peccatori si gloriaranno?	3 How long will sinners, O Lord, how long will sinners glory?
4 Pensaranno, e parlaranno la iniquità, parlaranno tutti gli operanti la ingiustizia?	4 How long will they utter and speak iniquity? How long will all who work injustice speak out?
5 Hanno, Signore, umiliato il tuo popolo; hanno molestato la tua eredità.	5 They have humiliated your people, O Lord, and they have harassed your inheritance.
6 Hanno ammazzata la vedova e il forestiero; hanno uccisi li pupilli.	6 They have executed the widow and the new arrival, and they have slaughtered the orphan.
7 E dissero: non ci vederà il Signore, e non intenderà il Dio di Iacob.	7 And they have said, “The Lord will not see, nor will the God of Jacob understand.”
8 Voi insipienti nel popolo, intendiate; e voi pazzi, alcuna volta sappiate.	8 Understand, you senseless ones among the people. And be wise at last, you foolish ones.
9 Colui che ha piantata l'orecchia, non udirà? ovver chi firmò l'occhio, non considera?	9 He who formed the ear, will he not hear? And he who forged the eye, does he not look closely?
10 Chi castiga la gente, non riprenderà; chi insegna [al] l' uomo la scienza?	10 He who chastises nations, he who teaches man knowledge, will he not rebuke?
11 Il Signore sa che gli pensieri delli uomini sono vani.	11 The Lord knows the thoughts of men: that these are in vain.
12 Beato l'uomo che tu, Signore, averai ammaestrato, e insegnato la legge tua,	12 Blessed is the man whom you will instruct, O Lord. And you will teach him from your law.
13 acciò che porti pazientemente li giorni mali, insino tanto che sie cavata la fossa al peccatore.	13 So may you soothe him from the evil days, until a pit may be dug for sinners.
14 Però che il Signore non moverà il suo popolo, e non abbandonerà la sua eredità,	14 For the Lord will not drive away his people, and he will not abandon his inheritance,
15 insino tanto che si converta la giustizia nel giudicio; e tutti quelli che sono appresso di quella, che son dritti di cuore.	15 even until the time when justice is being converted into judgment, and when those who are close to justice are all those who are upright of heart.
16 Chi si leverà meco contra li malignanti? ovver chi starà meco contra gli operanti la iniquità?	16 Who will rise up with me against the malignant? Or who will stand with me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Però che se il Signore non mi avesse aiutato, l'anima mia averia abitato nell' inferno.	17 Except that the Lord assisted me, my soul almost would have dwelt in Hell.
18 Se diceva: mosso è il mio piede, adiuvava me, Signore, la tua misericordia.	18 If ever I said, “My foot is slipping,” then your mercy, O Lord, assisted me.
19 Secondo molti miei dolori, che erano nel mio cuore, le tue consolazioni letificorono l'anima mia.	19 According to the multitude of my sorrows in my heart, your consolations have given joy to my soul.
20 Adunque accosterassi a te la sedia della iniquità, il quale nel comandamento fingi la fatica?	20 Does the seat of iniquity adhere to you, you who contrive hardship within a commandment?
21 Con avidità desiderano l'anima del giusto; e condanneranno il sangue innocente.	21 They will hunt down the soul of the just, and they will condemn innocent blood.
22 E il Signore è fatto a me rifugio, e il mio Iddio in adiutorio della mia speranza.	22 And the Lord has been made into a refuge for me, and my God into the assistance of my hope.
23 E a quelli renderà loro iniquità; dispergeralli nella loro malizia; dispergeralli il Signore Iddio nostro.	23 And he will repay them their iniquity, and he will destroy them in their malice. The Lord our God will utterly destroy them.
