1 Intelletto di Asaf (ovver, secondo alcuni, ammaestramenti di Asaf). Il perchè, Iddio, mi hai tu sospinto in fine; adirato è il tuo furore sopra le pecore della tua pastura?	1 A psalm of Asaph. How good God is to the upright, the Lord, to those who are clean of heart!
2 Ricordati della tua congregazione, la qual possedesti da principio. Ricomprasti la bacchetta della [tua] eredità; il monte di Sion nel quale abitasti.	2 I But, as for me, I lost my balance; my feet all but slipped,
3 Leva le tue mani contra loro superbia nella fine; quanta malignità ha fatto l'inimico contra il santo!	3 Because I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 E quelli che ti hanno odiato si sono gloriati, in mezzo della tua solennità. Posero li suoi segni,	4 For they suffer no pain; their bodies are healthy and sleek.
5 e non conobbero, come nell' esito sopra all'alto (tempio).	5 They are free of the burdens of life; they are not afflicted like others.
6 E tagliorono le sue porte con le scuri, come si fa nelle selve le legne; nella scure e mannaia dissiporono quelle.	6 Thus pride adorns them as a necklace; violence clothes them as a robe.
7 Col fuoco abbruciorono il tuo santuario; in terra maculorono il tabernacolo del tuo nome.	7 Out of their stupidity comes sin; evil thoughts flood their hearts.
8 Dissero nel suo cuore, insieme loro parentato: facciamo cessare dalla terra tutti i giorni festivi di Dio.	8 They scoff and spout their malice; from on high they utter threats.
9 Non abbiamo veduti li nostri segni, già non è profeta; e più non ci conoscerà.	9 They set their mouths against the heavens, their tongues roam the earth.
10 Insino quando, Iddio, improperarà l' inimico; provoca ad ira l'avversario il nome tuo in fine?	10 So my people turn to them and drink deeply of their words.
11 Il per che rimuovi la tua mano, e la destra tua, dal tuo petto nella fine?	11 They say, "Does God really know?" "Does the Most High have any knowledge?"
12 Ma Iddio, nostro re inanzi il mondo, operò la salute in mezzo della terra.	12 Such, then, are the wicked, always carefree, increasing their wealth.
13 Nella tua virtù confirmasti il mare; contribulasti li capi de' draconi nell' acque.	13 Is it in vain that I have kept my heart clean, washed my hands in innocence?
14 Tu spezzasti il capo del dracone; (per che) destilo in cibo alli popoli di Etiopia.	14 For I am afflicted day after day, chastised every morning.
15 Tu spezzasti le fontane e li torrenti; tu seccasti li fiumi di Etan.	15 Had I thought, "I will speak as they do," I would have betrayed your people.
16 Tuo è il dì, e tua è la notte; tu facesti l' aurora e il sole.	16 Though I tried to understand all this, it was too difficult for me,
17 Tu facesti tutti gli termini della terra; la estate e il verno, tu formasti quelli.	17 Till I entered the sanctuary of God and came to understand their end.
18 Ricòrdati di questo: nemico, egli ha improperato al Signore; e il popolo insipiente ha incitato il tuo nome.	18 You set them, indeed, on a slippery road; you hurl them down to ruin.
19 Non dare l' anime delli tuoi confitenti alle bestie; e non ti dimenticare nella fine dell' anime de' tuoi poveri.	19 How suddenly they are devastated; undone by disasters forever!
20 Risguarda nel tuo testamento; per che sono riempiuti quelli che sono oscurati della terra, nelle case della iniquità.	20 They are like a dream after waking, Lord, dismissed like shadows when you arise.
21 Non si parta da te l'umile, fatto confuso; il povero e bisognoso lodaranno il tuo nome.	21 Since my heart was embittered and my soul deeply wounded,
22 Lèvati, Iddio, giudica la tua cagione; arricòrdati delli tuoi improperii, di quelli che sono fatti tutto il giorno dall' insipiente.	22 I was stupid and could not understand; I was like a brute beast in your presence.
23 Non ti dismenticare le voci de' tuoi nemici; la superbia di quelli, che ti hanno in odio, monta sempre.	23 Yet I am always with you; you take hold of my right hand.
	24 With your counsel you guide me, and at the end receive me with honor.
	25 Whom else have I in the heavens? None beside you delights me on earth.
	26 Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the rock of my heart, my portion forever.
	27 But those who are far from you perish; you destroy those unfaithful to you.
	28 As for me, to be near God is my good, to make the Lord GOD my refuge. I shall declare all your works in the gates of daughter Zion.
