1 E conciosia cosa che gli uomini cominciassero già a moltiplicare sopra la terra, e figliuole procreassero,	1 And after that men began to be multiplied upon the earth, and daughters were born to them.
2 vedetteno gli figliuoli di Dio le figliuole delli uomini, ch' erano belle; e tolserlesi per moglie, di tutte quelle che s'aveano elette.	2 The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took themselves wives of all which they chose.
3 E disse loro lo Signore Iddio: non permanerà (cioè vuol dire non viverà) lo spirito mio nell'uomo sempre mai, imperciò ch' egli è di carne; e saranno i dì suoi di Cxx anni.	3 And God said: My spirit shall not remain in man for ever, because he is flesh, and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4 Ed in questi dì già i giganti erano sopra la terra. E poscia che venuti sono i figliuoli di Dio alle figliuole degli uomini, quelli ch' elle generonno furono potenti al secolo ed uomini famosi.	4 Now giants were upon the earth in those days. For after the sons of God went in to the daughters of men and they brought forth children, these are the mighty men of old, men of renown.
5 E vedendo Iddio, che molti mali dagli uomini fossero (cioè si facessero) nella terra, e tutt' i loro pensieri del cuore fossero intenti al mal fare in ogni tempo,	5 And God seeing that the wickedness of men was great on the earth, and that all the thought of their heart was bent upon evil at all times,
6 allora si pentio il Signore, ch' egli avea fatto l'uomo nella terra; (e guardante a quello che doveva venire) e toccato di dolore di cuore dentro, disse:	6 It repented him that he had made man on the earth. And being touched inwardly with sorrow of heart,
7 Io guasterò l'uomo, il quale io creai, della faccia della terra, dall'uomo insino agli animali, e da' rettili (e ferucole minute) insino agli uccelli del cielo. Io mi pento in verità, ch' io feci loro.	7 He said: I will destroy man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth, from man even to beasts, from the creeping thing even to the fowls of the air, for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 Ma Noè sì trovoe la grazia dinanzi dal Signore (cioè che egli scampi dal diluvio, perchè era uomo giusto al mondo e a Dio).	8 But Noe found grace before the Lord.
9 [ Queste sono le generazioni di Noè ]. Noè uomo giusto e perfetto (più che sopra la terra si trovasse) nelle sue generazioni col Signore andoe.	9 These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God.
10 E sì generoe tre figliuoli, cioè Sem, Cam e Iafet.	10 And he begot three sons, Sem, Cham, and Japheth.
11 Ma (peggiorando l'etaile) e corrompendosi la terra innanzi al Signore, è ripiena d'iniquitade.	11 And the earth was corrupted before God, and was filled with iniquity.
12 E conciosia cosa che Iddio vedesse la terra essere corrotta; e ogni carne avea corrotta la via sua sopra la terra (chè si partiano dal ben fare);	12 And when God had seen that the earth was corrupted (for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth,)
13 il Signore disse a Noè: la fine di tutta la carne viene innanzi a me, però che è rempiuta la terra d'iniquitade (e di peccati) della faccia loro; ma io dispergerò loro con la terra.	13 He said to Noe: The end of all flesh is come before me, the earth is filled with iniquity through them, and I will destroy them with the earth.
14 (Disse il Signore a Noè) fatti un'arca di legni piallati; e la stanzia tua nell'arca farai, e re golala di bitume dentro e di fuori (cioè di pece).	14 Make thee an ark of timber planks: thou shalt make little rooms in the ark, and thou shalt pitch it within and without.
15 E falla così: di CCC cubiti la sua lunghezza, la larghezza sia di L cubiti, e l'altitudine di XXX cubiti (e starai nell'arca).	15 And thus shalt thou make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits: the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 E farai nell'arca una fenestra, ed in cubito uno consumerai la sommitade sua; e l'uscio del l'arca porrai dal lato; di sotto il cenacolo e camere farai in quell'arca.	16 Thou shalt make a window in the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish the top of it: and the door of the ark thou shalt set in the side: with lower, middle chambers, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 Poi io adducerò l'acque del diluvio sopra la terra; e occiderò ogni carne, nella quale è spi rito di vita sotto cielo; e tutte cose sono in su la terra fieno consumate.	17 Behold I will bring the waters of a great flood upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, under heaven. All things that are in the earth shall be consumed.
18 E sì porroe il patto mio teco; ed entrerai nell'arca tu ed i figliuoli tuoi, e la moglie tua e le mogli de' figliuoli tuoi.	18 And I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt enter into the ark, thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and the wives of thy sons with thee.
19 E di tutti gli animali, di carne d'ogni generazione, ne metti due nell'arca, acciò che vivano teco, del maschio e della femina.	19 And of every living creature of all flesh, thou shalt bring two of each sort into the ark, that they may live with thee: of the male sex, and the female.
20 E togli qualità degli uccelli secondo la generazione sua, e delle bestie nella generazione sua, e d'ogni ferucola della terra secondo la generazione sua, cioè due di tutti; ed entrino teco nell'arca acciò che possano vivere.	20 Of fowls according to their kind, and of beasts in their kind, and of every thing that creepeth on earth according to its kind; two of every sort shall go in with thee, that they may live.
21 Togli adunque d'ogni cosa teco, le quali manucare si possano; e comportera' le appresso teco, e saranno così a te come a loro per cibo.	21 Thou shalt take unto thee of all food that may be eaten, and thou shalt lay it up with thee: and it shall be food for thee and them.
22 Fece adunque Noè ogni cosa, la quale Iddio gli avea comandato.	22 And Noe did all things which God commanded him.
