Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses and the elders of Israel instructed the people, saying: “Keep each commandment that I instruct to you this day.	1 Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron al pueblo esta orden: «Guardad todos los mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy.
2 And when you have crossed over the Jordan, into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, you shall erect immense stones, and you shall coat them with plaster,	2 Cuando paséis el Jordán para ir a la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, erigirás grandes piedras, las blanquearás con cal,
3 so that you may be able to write upon them all the words of this law, when you have crossed the Jordan so as to enter into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as he swore to your fathers.	3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta Ley, en el momento en que pases para entrar en la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, tierra que mana leche y miel, como te ha dicho Yahveh el Dios de tus padres.
4 Therefore, when you have crossed over the Jordan, erect the stones, just as I instruct you to do this day, on Mount Ebal. And you shall coat them with plaster,	4 Y cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán, erigiréis estas piedras en el monte Ebal, como os lo mando hoy, y las blanquearéis con cal.
5 and you shall build, in that place, an altar to the Lord your God out of stones which have not been touched by iron,	5 Levantarás allí en honor de Yahveh tu Dios un altar de piedras, sin labrarlas con el hierro.
6 out of stones which have not been hewn or polished. And you shall offer holocausts on it to the Lord your God.	6 Con piedras sin labrar harás el altar de Yahveh tu Dios, y sobre este altar ofrecerás holocaustos a Yahveh tu Dios.
7 And you shall immolate peace victims. And you shall eat and feast in that place, in the sight of the Lord your God.	7 Allí también inmolarás sacrificios de comunión, los comerás y te regocijarás en presencia de Yahveh tu Dios.
8 And you shall write upon the stones all the words of this law, plainly and clearly.”	8 Escribirás en esas piedras todas las palabras de esta Ley. Grábalas bien».
9 And Moses and the priests of Levitical stock said to all of Israel: “Attend and listen, O Israel! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.	9 Después Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas hablaron así a todo Israel: «Calla y escucha, Israel. Hoy te has convertido en el pueblo de Yahveh tu Dios.
10 You shall listen to his voice, and you shall do the commandments and justices, which I am entrusting to you.”	10 Escucharás la voz de Yahveh tu Dios y pondrás en práctica los mandamientos y preceptos que yo te prescribo hoy».
11 And Moses instructed the people in that day, saying:	11 Y Moisés ordenó aquel día al pueblo:
12 “These shall stand upon Mount Gerizim, as a blessing to the people, when you will have crossed the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.	12 Estos son los que se situarán en el monte Garizim para dar la bendición al pueblo, cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín;
13 And in the opposite region, there shall stand upon Mount Ebal, as a curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.	13 y estos otros los que se situarán, para la maldición, en el monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí.
14 And the Levites shall pronounce and declare to all the men of Israel, with an exalted voice:	14 Los levitas tomarán la palabra y dirán en voz alta a todos los israelitas:
15 Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten idol, an abomination to the Lord, a work of the hands of its maker, and who puts it in a secret place. And all the people shall respond by saying: Amen.	15 Maldito el hombre que haga un ídolo esculpido o fundido, abominación de Yahveh, obra de manos de artífice, y lo coloque en un lugar secreto. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
16 Cursed be he who does not honor his father and mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	16 Maldito quien desprecie a su padre o a su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
17 Cursed be he who removes his neighbor’s landmarks. And all the people shall say: Amen.	17 Maldito quien desplace el mojón de su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
18 Cursed be he who causes the blind to go astray on a journey. And all the people shall say: Amen.	18 Maldito quien desvíe a un ciego en el camino. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
19 Cursed be he who subverts the judgment of the new arrival, the orphan, or the widow. And all the people shall say: Amen.	19 Maldito quien tuerza el derecho del forastero, el huérfano o la viuda. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
20 Cursed be he who lies with his father’s wife, and so exposes the covering of his bed. And all the people shall say: Amen.	20 Maldito quien se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque descubre el borde del manto de su padre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
21 Cursed be he who lies with any beast. And all the people shall say: Amen.	21 Maldito quien se acueste con cualquier bestia. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
22 Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or of his mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	22 Maldito quien se acueste con su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
23 Cursed be he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say: Amen.	23 Maldito quien se acueste con su suegra. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
24 Cursed be he who secretly strikes down his neighbor. And all the people shall say: Amen.	24 Maldito quien mate a traición a su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
25 Cursed be he who accepts gifts in order to strike down the life of innocent blood. And all the people shall say: Amen.	25 Maldito quien acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
26 Cursed be he who does not remain in the words of this law, and does not carry them out in deed. And all the people shall say: Amen.”	26 Maldito quien no mantenga las palabras de esta Ley, poniéndolas en práctica. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
