Deuteronomy 12

1 “These are the precepts and judgments which you must do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, will give to you, so that you may possess it during all the days that you shall walk upon the soil.	1 «Ось установи й закони, що їх будете старатися виконувати в землі, яку Господь, Бог ваших батьків, дав вам, щоб ви заволоділи нею по всі дні, що в ній житимете.
2 Overturn all the places where the nations, which you will possess, worshipped their gods on lofty mountains, and on hills, and under every leafy tree.	2 Ви зруйнуєте дощенту всі ті місця, де народи, що їх проженете, служили своїм богам: по високих горах, по горбах і під кожним ряснолистим деревом.
3 Scatter their altars and break their statues. Burn their sacred groves with fire and crush their idols. Abolish their names from those places.	3 Ви знищите їхні жертовники, порозбиваєте їхні стовпи, їхні стовбури спалите вогнем, кумирів їхніх богів порубаєте та зітрете з тих місць їхнє ім’я.
4 But you shall not do the same to the Lord your God.	4 За їхнім прикладом ви не чинитимете Господеві, Богові вашому,
5 Instead, you shall approach the place which the Lord your God will choose among all your tribes, so that he may set his name there, and may dwell in that place.	5 а вчащатимете до того місця, що його Господь, Бог ваш, вибере поміж усіма вашими поколіннями, щоб поставити там своє ім’я; туди ходитимеш,
6 And you shall offer, in that place, your holocausts and victims, the tithes and first-fruits of your hands, and your vows and gifts, the firstborn of the cattle and of the sheep.	6 і туди будете носити ваші всепалення, ваші жертви, ваші десятини, офіри рук ваших, ваші обітниці, ваші добровільні пожертви й перваків вашого високорослого та дрібного скоту;
7 And you shall eat it there, in the sight of the Lord your God. And you shall rejoice in all the things to which you shall set your hand: you and your household, which the Lord your God has blessed for you.	7 і їстимете там перед Господом, Богом вашим, і радітимете ви самі й ваші сім’ї кожним здобутком ваших рук, яким Господь, Бог ваш, благословить вас.
8 You shall not do there the things that we are doing here today: each one doing what seems good to himself.	8 Ви не будете робити, як оце тут сьогодні ми робимо, що видається кому добре,
9 For even until the present time, you did not arrive at the rest and the possession, which the Lord your God will give to you.	9 бо ви ще не ввійшли до місця спочинку й насліддя, що Господь, Бог твій, дає вам.
10 You shall cross over the Jordan, and you shall live in the land which the Lord your God will give to you, so that you may have rest from all the surrounding enemies, and so that you may live without any fear,	10 Коли ж перейдете за Йордан та й осядетесь у землі, що її Господь, Бог ваш, хоче вам дати в насліддя, коли він забезпечить вам мир із боку всіх довколишніх ваших ворогів, і ви житимете безпечно,
11 in the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be in it. To that place, you shall bring all the things that I instruct you: holocausts, and victims, and tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and whatever is best among the gifts that you shall vow to the Lord.	11 тоді буде так: на те місце, що вибере Господь, Бог ваш, щоб там перебувало його ім’я, туди перенесете все, що я заповідаю вам: ваші всепалення, ваші жертви, ваші десятини, офіри рук ваших, і все найліпше, що в своїх обітницях ви прирекли дати Господеві.
12 In that place, you shall feast before the Lord your God: you, and your sons and daughters, your men and women servants, as well as the Levite who dwells in your cities. For he has no other portion or possession among you.	12 Ви будете веселитися перед Господом, Богом вашим, ви самі й ваші сини та дочки ваші, і ваші слуги та служниці ваші, і левіт, який живе в вашій оселі, бо немає в нього частки, ні насліддя з вами.
13 Take care that you do not offer your holocausts in any place that you see.	13 Уважай, щоб ти не приносив своїх усепалень на кожному місці, де яке побачиш,
14 Instead, you shall offer sacrifices in the place which the Lord will choose within one of your tribes, and you shall do whatsoever I instruct you.	14 тільки на тому місці, що його вибере Господь поміж твоїми поколіннями; там приноситимеш свої всепалення і там чинитимеш усе, що я тобі заповідаю.
15 So, if you wish to eat, and if the eating of flesh pleases you, then kill and eat according to the blessing of the Lord your God, which he has given to you, in your cities: you may eat it whether it is unclean, that is, having blemish or defect, or whether it is clean, that is, whole and without blemish, of the kind which is permitted to be offered, such as the roe deer and the stag.	15 Однак можна буде тобі, скільки схочеш, різати й їсти м’ясо в усіх твоїх містах, за благословенням Господа, Бога твого, що дасть тобі; нечистому й чистому можна буде його їсти, як їдять сарну й оленя;
16 Only the blood you shall not eat. Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water.	16 тільки крони їхньої не смієте споживати, на землю треба вилити її, як воду.
17 You may not eat in your towns the tithes of your crops, and your wine and oil, the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, nor anything which you will vow, or which you will offer spontaneously, nor the first-fruits of your hands.	17 Не можна тобі в твоїх містах їсти десятин твого зерна, молодого вина, олії, перваків з високорослої та дрібної скотини, жодних обітуваних жертвоприносів, якими ви приреклися, ні добровільних дарів, ні офір твоїх рук;
18 But you shall eat these before the Lord your God, in the place which the Lord your God will choose: you, and your son, and your daughter, and your man servant and woman servant, and the Levite who dwells in your cities. And you shall rejoice and be refreshed in the sight of the Lord your God by all the things to which you will extend your hand.	18 лиш перед Господом, Богом твоїм, на тому місці, що його вибере Господь, Бог твій, — там мусиш їх їсти, ти сам і твій син, і твоя дочка, і слуга твій, і слугиня твоя, і левіт, який перебуває в твоєму обійсті; і радітимеш перед Господом, Богом твоїм, усяким здобутком твоїх рук.
19 Be careful, lest you abandon the Levite, at anytime while you are living in the land.	19 Уважай, щоб ти не покидав левіта, поки життя твого на своїй землі.
20 When the Lord your God will have enlarged your borders, just as he has spoken to you, and when you would eat the flesh that your soul desires,	20 Коли Господь, Бог твій, як обіцяв був тобі, поширить твої границі, й ти скажеш: Хочу їсти м’яса! — забажалось тобі м’яса, — то можеш його їсти, скільки разів захочеш.
21 but if the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be there, is far away, you may kill, from your herds and your flocks which you will have, in the manner I have instructed to you, and you may eat in your towns, as it pleases you.	21 Коли ж те місце, що його Господь, Бог твій, вибере, щоб на ньому перебувало його ім’я, буде далеко від тебе, ти різатимеш із високорослої й дрібної скотини, що її Господь дав тобі, згідно з моїм велінням і їстимеш на своєму обійсті, скільки душа твоя забажає.
22 Just as the roe deer and the stag may be eaten, so also may you eat these: you may eat both the clean and the unclean alike.	22 Тільки що їстимеш його, як їдять сарну та оленя; нечистому й чистому однаково можна його їсти.
23 Only beware of this: you may not eat the blood. For their blood is for the soul. And because of this, you must not eat the soul with the flesh.	23 Але мусиш добре собі затямити — не споживати крови, бо кров то життя; не можна тобі споживати життя з м’ясом.
24 Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water,	24 Не смієш її споживати, виллєш її на землю, як воду.
25 so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, when you will do what is pleasing in the sight of the Lord.	25 Не смієш її споживати, щоб було добре тобі й твоїм дітям по тобі, бо тоді чинитимеш угодне очам Господнім.
26 But the things that you have sanctified and vowed to the Lord, you shall take up and bring to the place which the Lord will choose.	26 Тільки твої святі приноси, які будуть у тебе, й твої обітниці візьмеш та й прийдеш у те місце, що його вибере Господь.
27 And you shall offer your oblations of flesh and of blood upon the altar of the Lord your God. You shall poor out the blood of your victims upon the altar. And you yourself shall eat the flesh.	27 Ти приноситимеш свої всепалення, м’ясо й кров на жертовнику Господа, Бога твого; кров твоїх жертв буде вилита на жертовник Господа, Бога твого, а м’ясо можна тобі їсти.
28 Observe and heed all the things that I instruct to you, so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, continually, when you will do what is good and pleasing in the sight of the Lord your God.	28 Пильнуй і слухайся всіх цих наказів, що їх я тобі заповідаю, щоб повіки було добре тобі й дітям твоїм по тобі за те, що чиниш усе, що добре й праве перед очима Господа, Бога твого.
29 When the Lord your God will have abolished before your face the nations, which you shall enter so as to possess them, and when you will possess them and live in their land,	29 Коли Господь, Бог твій, винищить перед тобою ті народи, до яких ти йдеш, щоб їх прогнати, і коли, прогнавши їх, осядеш у їхній землі,
30 be careful that you do not imitate them, after they have been overturned at your arrival, and that you do not seek their ceremonies, saying: ‘Just as these nations have worshipped their gods, so also will I worship.’	30 бережися, щоб не дав упійматись у пастку, наслідуючи їх, після того, як вони зникнуть перед тобою, та щоб ти не виявляв охоти до їхніх богів, питаючи: Як ці народи служили своїм богам? Чинитиму й я так!
31 You shall not act in like manner toward the Lord your God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations that the Lord spurns, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.	31 Не чинитимеш такого Господеві, Богу твоєму, бо вони чинили перед своїми богами всяку гидоту, що для Господа ненависне; ба навіть власних синів і власних дочок спалювали на вогні для своїх богів.»
32 What I command to you, this only shall you do, for the Lord. You may neither add nor subtract anything.”
