1 A Canticle in steps: of David. O Lord, my heart has not been exalted, and my eyes have not been raised up. Neither have I walked in greatness, nor in wonders beyond me.	1 Canto delle ascensioni. Dall'abisso a te grido, o Signore:
2 When I was not humble in thought, then I lifted up my soul. Like one who has been weaned from his mother, so was I recompensed in my soul.	2 Signore, ascolta la mia voce; siano attente le tue orecchie alla voce della mia preghiera.
3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.	3 Se le colpe tu consideri, o Signore, chi potrà sussistere?
	4 Ma presso di te c'è il perdono in vista del tuo timore.
	5 Spero, Signore, spera l'anima mia; attendo la sua parola.
	6 L'anima attende il Signore più che le sentinelle l'aurora.
	7 Attendi il Signore, o Israele, poiché con il Signore c'è la misericordia, abbondante è con lui la redenzione.
	8 Egli redimerà Israele da tutte le sue colpe.
