Psalmi 132

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canticum ascensionum. Memento, Domine, David et omnis mansuetudinis eius,	1 [Song of Ascents] Yahweh, remember David and al the hardships he endured,
2 quia iuravit Domino, votum vovit Potenti Iacob:	2 the oath he swore to Yahweh, his vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “ Non introibo in tabernaculum domus meae, non ascendam in lectum strati mei,	3 'I wil not enter tent or house, wil not climb into bed,
4 non dabo somnum oculis meis et palpebris meis dormitationem,	4 will not al ow myself to sleep, not even to close my eyes,
5 donec inveniam locum Domino, tabernaculum Potenti Iacob ”.	5 til I have found a place for Yahweh, a dwel ing for the Mighty One of Jacob!'
6 Ecce audivimus eam esse in Ephratha, invenimus eam in campis Iaar.	6 Listen, we heard of it in Ephrathah, we found it at Forest-Fields.
7 Ingrediamur in tabernaculum eius, adoremus ad scabellum pedum eius. -	7 Let us go into his dwel ing-place, and worship at his footstool.
8 Surge, Domine, in requiem tuam, tu et arca fortitudinis tuae.	8 Go up, Yahweh, to your resting-place, you and the ark of your strength.
9 Sacerdotes tui induantur iustitiam, et sancti tui exsultent.	9 Your priests are robed in saving justice, your faithful are shouting for joy.
10 Propter David servum tuum non avertas faciem christi tui.	10 For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed.
11 Iuravit Dominus David veritatem et non recedet ab ea: “ De fructu ventris tui ponam super sedem tuam.	11 Yahweh has sworn to David, and wil always remain true to his word, 'I promise that I wil set a sonof yours upon your throne.
12 Si custodierint filii tui testamentum meum et testimonia mea, quae docebo eos, filii eorum usque in saeculum sedebunt super sedem tuam ”.	12 If your sons observe my covenant and the instructions I have taught them, their sons too forevermore wil occupy your throne.'
13 Quoniam elegit Dominus Sion, desideravit eam in habitationem sibi:	13 For Yahweh has chosen Zion, he has desired it as a home.
14 “ Haec requies mea in saeculum saeculi; hic habitabo, quoniam desideravi eam.	14 'Here shal I rest for evermore, here shal I make my home as I have wished.
15 Cibaria eius benedicens benedicam, pauperes eius saturabo panibus.	15 'I shal generously bless her produce, give her needy their fil of food,
16 Sacerdotes eius induam salutari, et sancti eius exsultatione exsultabunt.	16 I shal clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful wil sing aloud for joy.
17 Illic germinare faciam cornu David, parabo lucernam christo meo.	17 'There I shal raise up a line of descendants for David, light a lamp for my anointed;
18 Inimicos eius induam confusione, super ipsum autem efflorebit diadema eius ”.	18 I shal clothe his enemies with shame, while his own crown shall flourish.'
