1 Pablo, llamado a ser apóstol de Cristo Jesús por la voluntad de Dios, y Sóstenes, el hermano,	1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes a brother,
2 a la Iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto: a los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos, con cuantos en cualquier lugar invocan el nombre de Jesucristo, Señor nuestro, de nosotros y de ellos	2 To the church of God that is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place of theirs and ours.
3 gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios, Padre nuestro, y del Señor Jesucristo.	3 Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Doy gracias a Dios sin cesar por vosotros, a causa de la gracia de Dios que os ha sido otorgada en Cristo Jesús,	4 I give thanks to my God always for you, for the grace of God that is given you in Christ Jesus,
5 pues en él habéis sido enriquecidos en todo, en toda palabra y en todo conocimiento,	5 That in all things you are made rich in him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 en la medida en que se ha consolidado entre vosotros el testimonio de Cristo.	6 As the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,
7 Así, ya no os falta ningún don de gracia a los que esperáis la Revelación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.	7 So that nothing is wanting to you in any grace, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 El os fortalecerá hasta el fin para que seáis irreprensibles en el Día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.	8 Who also will confirm you unto the end without crime, in the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Pues fiel es Dios, por quien habéis sido llamados a la comunión con su hijo Jesucristo, Señor nuestro.	9 God is faithful: by whom you are called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Os conjuro, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, a que tengáis todos un mismo hablar, y no haya entre vosotros divisiones; antes bien, estéis unidos en una misma mentalidad y un mismo juicio.	10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same judgment.
11 Porque, hermanos míos, estoy informado de vosotros, por los de Cloe, que existen discordias entre vosotros.	11 For it hath been signified unto me, my brethren, of you, by them that are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Me refiero a que cada uno de vosotros dice: «Yo soy de Pablo», «Yo de Apolo», «Yo de Cefas», «Yo de Cristo».	12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith: I indeed am of Paul; and I am of Apollo; and I am of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 ¿Esta dividido Cristo? ¿Acaso fue Pablo crucificado por vosotros? ¿O habéis sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?	13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul then crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 ¡Doy gracias a Dios por no haber bautizado a ninguno de vosotros fuera de Crispo y Gayo!	14 I give God thanks, that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Caius;
15 Así, nadie puede decir que habéis sido bautizados en mi nombre.	15 Lest any should say that you were baptized in my name.
16 ¡Ah, sí!, también bauticé a la familia de Estéfanas. Por lo demás, no creo haber bautizado a ningún otro.	16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanus; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 Porque no me envió Cristo a bautizar, sino a predicar el Evangelio. Y no con palabras sabias, para no desvirtuar la cruz de Cristo.	17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.
18 Pues la predicación de la cruz es una necedad para los que se pierden; mas para los que se salvan - para nosotros - es fuerza de Dios.	18 For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness; but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.
19 Porque dice la Escritura: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, e inutilizaré la inteligencia de los inteligentes.	19 For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject.
20 ¿Dónde está el sabio? ¿Dónde el docto? ¿Dónde el sofista de este mundo? ¿Acaso no entondeció Dios la sabiduría del mundo?	20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 De hecho, como el mundo mediante su propia sabiduría no conoció a Dios en su divina sabiduría, quiso Dios salvar a los creyentes mediante la necedad de la predicación.	21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe.
22 Así, mientras los judíos piden señales y los griegos buscan sabiduría,	22 For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 nosotros predicamos a un Cristo crucificado: escándalo para los judíos, necedad para los gentiles;	23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness:
24 mas para los llamados, lo mismo judíos que griegos, un Cristo, fuerza de Dios y sabiduría de Dios.	24 But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Porque la necedad divina es más sabia que la sabiduría de los hombres, y la debilidad divina, más fuerte que la fuerza de los hombres.	25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 ¡Mirad, hermanos, quiénes habéis sido llamados! No hay muchos sabios según la carne ni muchos poderosos ni muchos de la nobleza.	26 For see your vocation, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble:
27 Ha escogido Dios más bien lo necio del mundo para confundir a los sabios. Y ha escogido Dios lo débil del mundo, para confundir lo fuerte.	27 But the foolish things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the wise; and the weak things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the strong.
28 Lo plebeyo y despreciable del mundo ha escogido Dios; lo que no es, para reducir a la nada lo que es.	28 And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that he might bring to nought things that are:
29 Para que ningún mortal se gloríe en la presencia de Dios.	29 That no flesh should glory in his sight.
30 De él os viene que estéis en Cristo Jesús, al cual hizo Dios para nosotros sabiduría de origen divino, justicia, santificación y redención,	30 But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and justice, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 a fin de que, como dice la Escritura: El que se gloríe, gloríese en el Señor.	31 That, as it is written: He that glorieth, may glory in the Lord.
