Ezequiel 35

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro hacia la montaña de Seír, y profetiza contra ella.	2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
3 Le dirás: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Aquí estoy contra ti, montaña de Seír. Voy a extender mi mano contra ti: te convertiré en soledad desolada,	3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;
4 y dejaré en ruinas tus ciudades; serás una desolación, y sabrás que yo soy Yahveh.	4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.
5 Por haber alimentado un odio eterno y haber entregado a la espada a los hijos de Israel el día de su desastre, el día de su última culpa,	5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,
6 por eso, por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que yo te dejaré en sangre y la sangre te perseguirá. Sí, eres rea de sangre, ¡y la sangre te perseguirá!	6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.
7 Haré de la montaña de Seír una soledad desolada, y extirparé de allí al que va y al que viene.	7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.
8 Llenaré de víctimas sus montes; en tus colinas, en tus valles y en todos tus barrancos, caerán las víctimas de la espada.	8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .
9 Te convertiré en soledades eternas, tus ciudades no volverán a ser habitadas, y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh.	9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.
10 Por haber dicho tú: «Las dos naciones, los dos países son míos, vamos a tomarlos en posesión», siendo así que Yahveh estaba allí,	10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,
11 por eso, por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que procederé con la misma cólera y los mismos celos con que tú has procedido en tu odio contra ellos, y me daré a conocer, por ellos, cuando te castigue.	11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,
12 Sabrás que yo, Yahveh, he oído todos los insultos que lanzabas contra los montes de Israel diciendo: «Están devastados, nos han sido entregados como pasto».	12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.
13 Me habéis desafiado con vuestra boca, habéis multiplicado contra mí vuestras palabras, lo he oído todo.	13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!
14 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Para alegría de toda esta tierra yo haré de ti una desolación.	14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.
15 Como tú te alegraste cuando la heredad de la casa de Israel era una desolación, yo te trataré a ti de la misma manera. Serás una desolación, montaña de Seír, así como Edom entero, y se sabrá que yo soy Yahveh.	15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "
