2 You have surely heard the way in which God entrusted me with the grace he gave me for your sake;	2 penso che abbiate sentito parlare del ministero della grazia di Dio, a me affidato a vostro beneficio:
3 he made known to me by a revelation the mystery I have just described briefly-	3 come per rivelazione mi è stato fatto conoscere il mistero di cui sopra vi ho scritto brevemente.
4 a reading of it wil enable you to perceive my understanding of the mystery of Christ.	4 Dalla lettura di ciò che ho scritto potete ben capire la mia comprensione del mistero di Cristo.
5 This mystery, as it is now revealed in the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets, was unknown tohumanity in previous generations:	5 Questo mistero non è stato manifestato agli uomini delle precedenti generazioni come al presente è stato rivelato ai suoi santi apostoli e profeti per mezzo dello Spirito:
6 that the gentiles now have the same inheritance and form the same Body and enjoy the same promisein Christ Jesus through the gospel.	6 che i Gentili cioè sono chiamati, in Cristo Gesù, a partecipare alla stessa eredità, a formare lo stesso corpo, e ad essere partecipi della promessa per mezzo del vangelo,
7 I have been made the servant of that gospel by a gift of grace from God who gave it to me by theworkings of his power.	7 del quale sono divenuto ministro per il dono della grazia di Dio a me concessa in virtù dell'efficacia della sua potenza.
8 I, who am less than the least of all God's holy people, have been entrusted with this special grace, ofproclaiming to the gentiles the unfathomable treasure of Christ	8 A me, che sono l'infimo fra tutti i santi, è stata concessa questa grazia di annunziare ai Gentili le imperscrutabili ricchezze di Cristo,
9 and of throwing light on the inner workings of the mystery kept hidden through al the ages in God, theCreator of everything.	9 e di far risplendere agli occhi di tutti qual è l'adempimento del mistero nascosto da secoli nella mente di Dio, creatore dell'universo,
10 The purpose of this was, that now, through the Church, the principalities and ruling forces should learnhow many-sided God's wisdom is,	10 perché sia manifestata ora nel cielo, per mezzo della Chiesa, ai Principati e alle Potestà la multiforme sapienza di Dio,
11 according to the plan which he had formed from al eternity in Christ Jesus our Lord.	11 secondo il disegno eterno che ha attuato in Cristo Gesù nostro Signore,
12 In him we are bold enough to approach God in complete confidence, through our faith in him;	12 il quale ci dà il coraggio di avvicinarci in piena fiducia a Dio per la fede in lui.
13 so, I beg you, do not let the hardships I go through on your account make you waver; they are yourglory.	13 Vi prego quindi di non perdervi d'animo per le mie tribolazioni per voi; sono gloria vostra.
14 This, then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father,	14 Per questo, dico, io piego le ginocchia davanti al Padre,
15 from whom every fatherhood, in heaven or on earth, takes its name.	15 dal quale ogni paternità nei cieli e sulla terra prende nome,
16 In the abundance of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm in power with regardto your inner self,	16 perché vi conceda, secondo la ricchezza della sua gloria, di essere potentemente rafforzati dal suo Spirito nell'uomo interiore.
17 so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love,	17 Che il Cristo abiti per la fede nei vostri cuori e così, radicati e fondati nella carità,
18 with al God's holy people you wil have the strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the heightand the depth;	18 siate in grado di comprendere con tutti i santi quale sia l'ampiezza, la lunghezza, l'altezza e la profondità,
19 so that, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be fil ed with the utterful ness of God.	19 e conoscere l'amore di Cristo che sorpassa ogni conoscenza, perché siate ricolmi di tutta la pienezza di Dio.
20 Glory be to him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine;	20 A colui che in tutto ha potere di fare molto più di quanto possiamo domandare o pensare, secondo la potenza che già opera in noi,
21 glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever.Amen.	21 a lui la gloria nella Chiesa e in Cristo Gesù per tutte le generazioni, nei secoli dei secoli! Amen.
