Micah 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 But you (Bethlehem) Ephrathah, the least of the clans of Judah, from you will come for me a future rulerof Israel whose origins go back to the distant past, to the days of old.	1 E tu, Betlemme di Efrata così piccola per essere fra i capoluoghi di Giuda, da te mi uscirà colui che deve essere il dominatore in Israele; le sue origini sono dall'antichità, dai giorni più remoti.
2 Hence Yahweh will abandon them only until she who is in labour gives birth, and then those who surviveof his race wil be reunited to the Israelites.	2 Perciò Dio li metterà in potere altrui fino a quando colei che deve partorire partorirà; e il resto dei tuoi fratelli ritornerà ai figli di Israele.
3 He wil take his stand and he wil shepherd them with the power of Yahweh, with the majesty of thename of his God, and they wil be secure, for his greatness wil extend henceforth to the most distant parts of thecountry.	3 Egli starà là e pascerà con la forza del Signore, con la maestà del nome del Signore suo Dio. Abiteranno sicuri perché egli allora sarà grande fino agli estremi confini della terra
4 He himself wil be peace! Should the Assyrian invade our country, should he set foot in our land, weshall raise seven shepherds against him, eight leaders of men;	4 e tale sarà la pace: se Assur entrerà nella nostra terra e metterà il piede sul nostro suolo, noi schiereremo contro di lui sette pastori e otto capi di uomini,
5 they wil shepherd Assyria with the sword, the country of Nimrod with naked blade. He will save us fromthe Assyrian, should he invade our country, should he set foot inside our frontiers.	5 che governeranno la terra di Assur con la spada, il paese di Nimròd con il suo stesso pugnale. Ci libereranno da Assur, se entrerà nella nostra terra e metterà piede entro i nostri confini.
6 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a dew from Yahweh, like showerson the grass, which do not depend on human agency and are beyond human control.	6 Il resto di Giacobbe sarà, in mezzo a molti popoli, come rugiada mandata dal Signore e come pioggia che cade sull'erba, che non attende nulla dall'uomo e nulla spera dai figli dell'uomo.
7 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a lion among the forest beasts, like a fierce lion among flocks of sheep trampling as he goes, mangling his prey which no one takes from him.	7 Allora il resto di Giacobbe sarà, in mezzo a popoli numerosi, come un leone tra le belve della foresta, come un leoncello tra greggi di pecore, il quale, se entra, calpesta e sbrana e non c'è scampo.
8 You wil be victorious over your foes and al your enemies will be torn to pieces.	8 La tua mano si alzerà contro tutti i tuoi nemici, e tutti i tuoi avversari saranno sterminati.
9 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- I shal tear your horses away from you, I shal destroy yourchariots;	9 In quel giorno - dice il Signore - distruggerò i tuoi cavalli in mezzo a te e manderò in rovina i tuoi carri;
10 I shall tear the cities from your country, I shal overthrow all your fortresses;	10 distruggerò le città della tua terra e demolirò tutte le tue fortezze.
11 I shall tear the spells out of your hands and you wil have no more soothsayers;	11 Ti strapperò di mano i sortilegi e non avrai più indovini.
12 I shall tear away your images and your sacred pillars from among you, and no longer wil you worshipthings which your own hands have made!	12 Distruggerò in mezzo a te le tue sculture e le tue stele, né più ti prostrerai davanti a un'opera delle tue mani.
13 I shall uproot your sacred poles and shal destroy your cities!	13 Estirperò da te i tuoi pali sacri, distruggerò i tuoi idoli.
14 In furious anger I shal wreak vengeance on the nations who have disobeyed me!	14 Con ira e furore, farò vendetta delle genti, che non hanno voluto obbedire.
