Jeremiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.	1 "In quel tempo - oracolo del Signore - si estrarranno dai loro sepolcri le ossa dei re di Giuda, le ossa dei suoi capi, dei sacerdoti, dei profeti e degli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.	2 Esse saranno sparse in onore del sole, della luna e di tutta la milizia del cielo che essi amarono, servirono, seguirono, consultarono e adorarono. Non saranno più raccolte né sepolte, ma rimarranno come letame sulla terra.
3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	3 Allora la morte sarà preferibile alla vita per tutti quelli che resteranno di questa razza malvagia in ogni luogo, dove li avrò dispersi". Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.
4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?	4 Tu dirai loro: "Così dice il Signore: Forse chi cade non si rialza e chi perde la strada non torna indietro?
5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.	5 Perché allora questo popolo si ribella con continua ribellione? Persistono nella malafede, rifiutano di convertirsi.
6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.	6 Ho fatto attenzione e ho ascoltato; essi non parlano come dovrebbero. Nessuno si pente della sua malizia, dicendo: Che ho fatto? Ognuno segue senza voltarsi la sua corsa come un cavallo che si lanci nella battaglia.
7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '	7 Anche la cicogna nel cielo conosce i suoi tempi; la tortora, la rondinella e la gru osservano la data del loro ritorno; il mio popolo, invece, non conosce il comando del Signore.
8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!	8 Come potete dire: Noi siamo saggi, la legge del Signore è con noi? A menzogna l'ha ridotta la penna menzognera degli scribi!
9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?	9 I saggi saranno confusi, sconcertati e presi come in un laccio. Essi hanno rigettato la parola del Signore, quale sapienza possono avere?
10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.	10 Per questo darò le loro donne ad altri, i loro campi ai conquistatori, perché, dal piccolo al grande, tutti commettono frode; dal profeta al sacerdote, tutti praticano la menzogna.
11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.	11 Essi curano la ferita del mio popolo ma solo alla leggera, dicendo: Bene, bene! ma bene non va.
12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.	12 Dovrebbero vergognarsi dei loro atti abominevoli, ma non si vergognano affatto, non sanno neppure arrossire. Per questo cadranno con le altre vittime, nell'ora del castigo saranno prostrati" dice il Signore.
13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!	13 "Li mieto e li anniento, dice il Signore, non c'è più uva nella vigna né frutti sui fichi; anche le foglie son avvizzite. Ho procurato per loro degli invasori".
14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.	14 "Perché ce ne stiamo seduti? Riunitevi, entriamo nelle fortezze e moriamo in esse, poiché il Signore nostro Dio ci fa perire. Egli ci fa bere acque avvelenate, perché abbiamo peccato contro di lui.
15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!	15 Aspettavamo la pace, ma non c'è alcun bene; l'ora della salvezza, ed ecco il terrore".
16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.	16 Da Dan si sente lo sbuffare dei suoi cavalli; al rumore dei nitriti dei suoi destrieri trema tutta la terra. Vengono e divorano il paese e quanto in esso si trova, la città e i suoi abitanti.
17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.	17 "Ecco, io sto per mandarvi serpenti velenosi contro i quali non esiste incantesimo, ed essi vi morderanno" dice il Signore.
18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.	18 Cercai di rasserenarmi, superando il mio dolore, ma il mio cuore vien meno.
19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)	19 Ecco odo le grida della figlia del mio popolo da una terra lunga e larga: "Forse il Signore non si trova in Sion, il suo re non vi abita più?". Perché mi hanno provocato all'ira con i loro idoli e con queste nullità straniere?
20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'	20 È passata la stagione della messe, è finita l'estate e noi non siamo stati soccorsi.
21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.	21 Per la ferita della figlia del mio popolo sono affranto, sono costernato, l'orrore mi ha preso.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?	22 Non v'è forse balsamo in Gàlaad? Non c'è più nessun medico? Perché non si cicatrizza la ferita della figlia del mio popolo?
23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?	23 Chi farà del mio capo una fonte di acqua, dei miei occhi una sorgente di lacrime, perché pianga giorno e notte gli uccisi della figlia del mio popolo?
