Isaiah 64

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 as fire sets brushwood alight, as fire makes water boil -- to make your name known to your foes; thenations would tremble at your presence,	1 Come il fuoco incendia le stoppie e fa bollire l'acqua, così il fuoco distrugga i tuoi avversari, perché si conosca il tuo nome fra i tuoi nemici. Davanti a te tremavano i popoli,
2 at the unexpected miracles you would do. (Oh, that you would come down, in your presence themountains would quake!)	2 quando tu compivi cose terribili che non attendevamo,
3 Never has anyone heard, no ear has heard, no eye has seen any god but you act like this for the sakeof those who trust him.	3 di cui non si udì parlare da tempi lontani. Orecchio non ha sentito, occhio non ha visto che un Dio, fuori di te, abbia fatto tanto per chi confida in lui.
4 You come to meet those who are happy to act uprightly; keeping your ways reminds them of you. Yes,you have been angry and we have been sinners; now we persist in your ways and we shal be saved.	4 Tu vai incontro a quanti praticano la giustizia e si ricordano delle tue vie. Ecco, tu sei adirato perché abbiamo peccato contro di te da lungo tempo e siamo stati ribelli.
5 We have al been like unclean things and our upright deeds like filthy rags. We wither, al of us, likeleaves, and al our misdeeds carry us off like the wind.	5 Siamo divenuti tutti come una cosa impura e come panno immondo sono tutti i nostri atti di giustizia tutti siamo avvizziti come foglie, le nostre iniquità ci hanno portato via come il vento.
6 There is no one to invoke your name, to rouse himself to hold fast to you, for you have hidden your facefrom us and given us up to the power of our misdeeds.	6 Nessuno invocava il tuo nome, nessuno si riscuoteva per stringersi a te; perché tu avevi nascosto da noi il tuo volto, ci hai messo in balìa della nostra iniquità.
7 And yet, Yahweh, you are our Father; we the clay and you our potter, al of us are the work of yourhands.	7 Ma, Signore, tu sei nostro padre; noi siamo argilla e tu colui che ci da' forma, tutti noi siamo opera delle tue mani.
8 Yahweh, do not let your anger go too far and do not remember guilt for ever. Look, please, we are alyour people;	8 Signore, non adirarti troppo, non ricordarti per sempre dell'iniquità. Ecco, guarda: tutti siamo tuo popolo.
9 your holy cities have become a desert, Zion has become a desert, Jerusalem a wasteland.	9 Le tue città sante sono un deserto, un deserto è diventata Sion, Gerusalemme una desolazione.
10 Our holy and glorious Temple, in which our ancestors used to praise you, has been burnt to theground; al our delight lies in ruins.	10 Il nostro tempio, santo e magnifico, dove i nostri padri ti hanno lodato, è divenuto preda del fuoco; tutte le nostre cose preziose sono distrutte.
11 Yahweh, can you restrain yourself at al this? Wil you stay silent and afflict us beyond endurance?	11 Dopo tutto questo, resterai ancora insensibile, o Signore, tacerai e ci umilierai sino in fondo?
