NEW JERUSALEMBIBBIA
1 Who has given credence to what we have heard? And who has seen in it a revelation of Yahweh'sarm?1 Chi avrebbe creduto alla nostra rivelazione?
2 Like a sapling he grew up before him, like a root in arid ground. He had no form or charm to attract us,no beauty to win our hearts;2 È cresciuto come un virgulto davanti a lui
e come una radice in terra arida.
Non ha apparenza né bellezza
per attirare i nostri sguardi,
non splendore per provare in lui diletto.
3 he was despised, the lowest of men, a man of sorrows, familiar with suffering, one from whom, as itwere, we averted our gaze, despised, for whom we had no regard.3 Disprezzato e reietto dagli uomini,
era disprezzato e non ne avevamo alcuna stima.
4 Yet ours were the sufferings he was bearing, ours the sorrows he was carrying, while we thought of himas someone being punished and struck with affliction by God;4 Eppure egli si è caricato delle nostre sofferenze,
si è addossato i nostri dolori
e noi lo giudicavamo castigato,
percosso da Dio e umiliato.
5 whereas he was being wounded for our rebel ions, crushed because of our guilt; the punishmentreconciling us fel on him, and we have been healed by his bruises.5 Egli è stato trafitto per i nostri delitti,
schiacciato per le nostre iniquità.
Il castigo che ci da' salvezza si è abbattuto su di lui;
6 We had al gone astray like sheep, each taking his own way, and Yahweh brought the acts of rebellionof al of us to bear on him.6 Noi tutti eravamo sperduti come un gregge,
ognuno di noi seguiva la sua strada;
il Signore fece ricadere su di lui
l'iniquità di noi tutti.
7 Il -treated and afflicted, he never opened his mouth, like a lamb led to the slaughter-house, like a sheepdumb before its shearers he never opened his mouth.7 Maltrattato, si lasciò umiliare
e non aprì la sua bocca;
8 Forcibly, after sentence, he was taken. Which of his contemporaries was concerned at his having beencut off from the land of the living, at his having been struck dead for his people's rebel ion?8 Con oppressione e ingiusta sentenza fu tolto di mezzo;
9 He was given a grave with the wicked, and his tomb is with the rich, although he had done no violence,had spoken no deceit.9 Gli si diede sepoltura con gli empi,
con il ricco fu il suo tumulo,
sebbene non avesse commesso violenza
né vi fosse inganno nella sua bocca.
10 It was Yahweh's good pleasure to crush him with pain; if he gives his life as a sin offering, he wil seehis offspring and prolong his life, and through him Yahweh's good pleasure wil be done.10 Ma al Signore è piaciuto prostrarlo con dolori.
11 After the ordeal he has endured, he wil see the light and be content. By his knowledge, the uprightone, my servant wil justify many by taking their guilt on himself.11 Dopo il suo intimo tormento vedrà la luce
e si sazierà della sua conoscenza;
il giusto mio servo giustificherà molti,
egli si addosserà la loro iniquità.
12 Hence I shall give him a portion with the many, and he wil share the booty with the mighty, for havingexposed himself to death and for being counted as one of the rebel ious, whereas he was bearing the sin ofmany and interceding for the rebel ious.12 Perciò io gli darò in premio le moltitudini,
dei potenti egli farà bottino,
perché ha consegnato se stesso alla morte
ed è stato annoverato fra gli empi,
mentre egli portava il peccato di molti
e intercedeva per i peccatori.
