NEW JERUSALEMBIBBIA
1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,1 'Di Salomone.'

Dio, da'al re il tuo giudizio,
al figlio del re la tua giustizia;
2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.2 regga con giustizia il tuo popolo
e i tuoi poveri con rettitudine.

3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice3 Le montagne portino pace al popolo
e le colline giustizia.
4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.4 Ai miseri del suo popolo renderà giustizia,
salverà i figli dei poveri
e abbatterà l'oppressore.
5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.5 Il suo regno durerà quanto il sole,
quanto la luna, per tutti i secoli.

6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.6 Scenderà come pioggia sull'erba,
come acqua che irrora la terra.
7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.7 Nei suoi giorni fiorirà la giustizia
e abbonderà la pace,
finché non si spenga la luna.
8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.8 E dominerà da mare a mare,
dal fiume sino ai confini della terra.

9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;9 A lui si piegheranno gli abitanti del deserto,
lambiranno la polvere i suoi nemici.
10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;10 Il re di Tarsis e delle isole porteranno offerte,
i re degli Arabi e di Saba offriranno tributi.
11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.11 A lui tutti i re si prostreranno,
lo serviranno tutte le nazioni.

12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.12 Egli libererà il povero che grida
e il misero che non trova aiuto,
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.13 avrà pietà del debole e del povero
e salverà la vita dei suoi miseri.
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.14 Li riscatterà dalla violenza e dal sopruso,
sarà prezioso ai suoi occhi il loro sangue.

15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.15 Vivrà e gli sarà dato oro di Arabia;
si pregherà per lui ogni giorno,
sarà benedetto per sempre.
16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.16 Abbonderà il frumento nel paese,
ondeggerà sulle cime dei monti;
il suo frutto fiorirà come il Libano,
la sua messe come l'erba della terra.

17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.17 Il suo nome duri in eterno,
davanti al sole persista il suo nome.
In lui saranno benedette
tutte le stirpi della terra
e tutti i popoli lo diranno beato.
18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;18 Benedetto il Signore, Dio di Israele,
egli solo compie prodigi.
19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!19 E benedetto il suo nome glorioso per sempre,
della sua gloria sia piena tutta la terra.
Amen, amen.
20 End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.
