Nehemiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 all the people gathered as one man in the square in front of the Water Gate, and asked the scribe Ezrato bring the Book of the Law of Moses which Yahweh had prescribed for Israel.	1 Allora tutto il popolo si radunò come un solo uomo sulla piazza davanti alla porta delle Acque e disse ad Esdra lo scriba di portare il libro della legge di Mosè che il Signore aveva dato a Israele.
2 Accordingly, on the first day of the seventh month, the priest Ezra brought the Law before theassembly, consisting of men, women and al those old enough to understand.	2 Il primo giorno del settimo mese, il sacerdote Esdra portò la legge davanti all'assemblea degli uomini, delle donne e di quanti erano capaci di intendere.
3 In the square in front of the Water Gate, in the presence of the men and women, and of those oldenough to understand, he read from the book from dawn till noon; al the people listened attentively to the Bookof the Law.	3 Lesse il libro sulla piazza davanti alla porta delle Acque, dallo spuntar della luce fino a mezzogiorno, in presenza degli uomini, delle donne e di quelli che erano capaci di intendere; tutto il popolo porgeva l'orecchio a sentire il libro della legge.
4 The scribe Ezra stood on a wooden dais erected for the purpose; beside him stood, on his right,Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; on his left, Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum,Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshul am.	4 Esdra lo scriba stava sopra una tribuna di legno, che avevano costruito per l'occorrenza e accanto a lui stavano, a destra Mattitia, Sema, Anaia, Uria, Chelkia e Maaseia; a sinistra Pedaia, Misael, Malchia, Casum, Casbaddàna, Zaccaria e Mesullàm.
5 In full view of al the people -- since he stood higher than them al -- Ezra opened the book; and whenhe opened it, al the people stood up.	5 Esdra aprì il libro in presenza di tutto il popolo, poiché stava più in alto di tutto il popolo; come ebbe aperto il libro, tutto il popolo si alzò in piedi.
6 Then Ezra blessed Yahweh, the great God, and al the people raised their hands and answered, 'Amen!Amen!'; then they bowed down and, face to the ground, prostrated themselves before Yahweh.	6 Esdra benedisse il Signore Dio grande e tutto il popolo rispose: "Amen, amen", alzando le mani; si inginocchiarono e si prostrarono con la faccia a terra dinanzi al Signore.
7 And Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabab,Hanan, Pelaiah, who were Levites, explained the Law to the people, while the people al kept their places.	7 Giosuè, Bani, Serebia, Iamin, Akkub, Sabbetài, Odia, Maaseia, Kelita, Azaria, Iozabàd, Canàn, Pelaia, leviti, spiegavano la legge al popolo e il popolo stava in piedi al suo posto.
8 Ezra read from the book of the Law of God, translating and giving the sense; so the reading wasunderstood.	8 Essi leggevano nel libro della legge di Dio a brani distinti e con spiegazioni del senso e così facevano comprendere la lettura.
9 Then His Excel ency Nehemiah and the priest-scribe Ezra and the Levites who were instructing thepeople said to al the people, 'Today is sacred to Yahweh your God. Do not be mournful, do not weep.' For thepeople were all in tears as they listened to the words of the Law.	9 Neemia, che era il governatore, Esdra sacerdote e scriba e i leviti che ammaestravano il popolo dissero a tutto il popolo: "Questo giorno è consacrato al Signore vostro Dio; non fate lutto e non piangete!". Perché tutto il popolo piangeva, mentre ascoltava le parole della legge.
10 He then said, 'You may go; eat what is rich, drink what is sweet and send a helping to the man whohas nothing prepared. For today is sacred to our Lord. Do not be sad: the joy of Yahweh is your stronghold.'	10 Poi Neemia disse loro: "Andate, mangiate carni grasse e bevete vini dolci e mandate porzioni a quelli che nulla hanno di preparato, perché questo giorno è consacrato al Signore nostro; non vi rattristate, perché la gioia del Signore è la vostra forza".
11 And the Levites calmed al the people down, saying, 'Keep quiet; this is a sacred day. Do not be sad.'	11 I leviti calmavano tutto il popolo dicendo: "Tacete, perché questo giorno è santo; non vi rattristate!".
12 Then al the people went off to eat and drink and give helpings away and enjoy themselves to the ful ,since they had understood the meaning of what had been proclaimed to them.	12 Tutto il popolo andò a mangiare, a bere, a mandare porzioni ai poveri e a far festa, perché avevano compreso le parole che erano state loro proclamate.
13 On the second day, the heads of families of the whole people, and the priests and Levites, gatheredround the scribe Ezra to study the words of the Law.	13 Il secondo giorno i capifamiglia di tutto il popolo, i sacerdoti e i leviti si radunarono presso Esdra lo scriba per esaminare le parole della legge.
14 And written in the Law that Yahweh had prescribed through Moses they found that the Israelites wereto live in shelters during the feast of the seventh month.	14 Trovarono scritto nella legge data dal Signore per mezzo di Mosè, che gli Israeliti dovevano dimorare in capanne durante la festa del settimo mese.
15 So they issued a proclamation and had it circulated in al their towns and in Jerusalem: 'Go into thehil s and bring branches of olive, pine, myrtle, palm and other leafy trees to make shelters, as it says in the book.'	15 Allora fecero sapere la cosa e pubblicarono questo bando in tutte le loro città e in Gerusalemme: "Andate al monte e portatene rami di ulivo, rami di olivastro, rami di mirto, rami di palma e rami di alberi ombrosi, per fare capanne, come sta scritto".
16 The people went out; they brought branches and made shelters for themselves, each man on his roof,in their courtyards, in the precincts of the Temple of God, in the square of the Water Gate and in the square ofthe Ephraim Gate.	16 Allora il popolo andò fuori, portò i rami e si fece ciascuno la sua capanna sul tetto della propria casa, nei loro cortili, nei cortili della casa di Dio, sulla piazza della porta delle Acque e sulla piazza della porta di Èfraim.
17 The whole assembly, al who had returned from the captivity, put up shelters and lived in them; thisthe Israelites had not done from the days of Joshua son of Nun til that day, and there was very greatmerrymaking.	17 Così tutta la comunità di coloro che erano tornati dalla deportazione si fece capanne e dimorò nelle capanne. 18 Each day, from the first day to the last one, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. Theycelebrated the feast for seven days; on the eighth day, as prescribed, they held a solemn assembly.	18 Esdra fece la lettura del libro della legge di Dio ogni giorno, dal primo all'ultimo; la festa si celebrò durante sette giorni e l'ottavo vi fu una solenne assemblea secondo il rito.
