Jeremiah 43

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 When Jeremiah had finished tel ing all the people al the words of Yahweh their God, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to tel them -- al the words quoted above-	1 Quando Geremia finì di riferire a tutto il popolo tutte le parole del Signore loro Dio - tutte quelle parole per cui il Signore lo aveva inviato a loro -
2 Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all those arrogant men, said to Jeremiah,'You are lying. Yahweh our God did not send you to say, "Do not go to Egypt and settle there."	2 Azaria figlio di Osaia e Giovanni figlio di Kàreca e tutti quegli uomini superbi e ribelli dissero a Geremia: "Una menzogna stai dicendo! Non ti ha inviato il Signore nostro Dio a dirci: Non andate in Egitto per dimorare là;
3 It was Baruch son of Neriah, who keeps inciting you against us, to hand us over to the Chaldaeans sothat they can put us to death or deport us to Babylon.'	3 ma Baruch figlio di Neria ti istiga contro di noi per consegnarci nelle mani dei Caldei, perché ci uccidano e ci deportino in Babilonia".
4 So neither Johanan nor any of the military leaders nor any of the people obeyed the voice of Yahwehby staying in the country of Judah.	4 Pertanto Giovanni figlio di Kàreca e tutti i capi delle bande armate e tutto il popolo non obbedirono all'invito del Signore di rimanere nel paese di Giuda.

7 And so, in disobedience to the voice of Yahweh, they reached Egypt and arrived at Tahpanhes.	7 e andarono nel paese d'Egitto, non avendo dato ascolto alla voce del Signore, e giunsero fino a Tafni.
8 At Tahpanhes the word of Yahweh was addressed to Jeremiah as fol ows,	8 Allora la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Geremia in Tafni:
9 'Take some large stones and bury them in the cement on the terrace outside the entrance of Pharaoh'spalace in Tahpanhes, where the Judaeans can see you.	9 "Prendi in mano grandi pietre e sotterrale nella mota nel quadrato dei mattoni all'ingresso della casa del faraone in Tafni, sotto agli occhi dei Giudei.
10 Then say to them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Look, I shal send for my servantNebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he wil place his throne on these stones I have buried, and spread hiscanopy above them.	10 Quindi dirai loro: Dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio di Israele: Ecco, io manderò a prendere Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia, mio servo; egli porrà il trono su queste pietre che hai sotterrate e stenderà il baldacchino sopra di esse.
11 When he comes, he wil defeat Egypt: Those for the plague, to the plague; those for captivity, tocaptivity; those for the sword, to the sword!	11 Verrà infatti e colpirà il paese d'Egitto, mandando a morte chi è destinato alla morte, alla schiavitù chi è destinato alla schiavitù e uccidendo di spada chi è destinato alla spada.
12 "He wil set fire to the temples of the gods of Egypt; he wil burn these gods or take them prisoner; likea shepherd wrapping his cloak round him, so he will wrap Egypt round him, and then leave without anyonelaying hands on him.	12 Darà alle fiamme i templi degli dèi d'Egitto, li brucerà e porterà gli dèi in esilio; ripulirà il paese di Egitto come un pastore pulisce dai pidocchi il mantello; poi se ne andrà tranquillo.
13 He wil break the obelisks of the temple of the Sun in Egypt, and burn down the temples of the gods ofEgypt." '	13 Frantumerà gli obelischi del tempio del sole nel paese d'Egitto e darà alle fiamme i templi degli dèi d'Egitto".
