Leviticus 25

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai and said:	1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè sul monte Sinai:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say to them: "When you enter the country which I am giving you, the landmust keep a Sabbath's rest for Yahweh.	2 "Parla agli Israeliti e riferisci loro: Quando entrerete nel paese che io vi dò, la terra dovrà avere il suo sabato consacrato al Signore.
3 For six years you wil sow your field, for six years you wil prune your vineyard and gather its produce.	3 Per sei anni seminerai il tuo campo e poterai la tua vigna e ne raccoglierai i frutti;
4 But in the seventh year the land wil have a sabbatical rest, a Sabbath for Yahweh. You wil neithersow your field, nor prune your vineyard,	4 ma il settimo anno sarà come sabato, un riposo assoluto per la terra, un sabato in onore del Signore; non seminerai il tuo campo e non poterai la tua vigna.
5 nor reap any grain which has grown of its own accord, nor gather the grapes from your untrimmedvine. It wil be a year of rest for the land.	5 Non mieterai quello che nascerà spontaneamente dal seme caduto nella tua mietitura precedente e non vendemmierai l'uva della vigna che non avrai potata; sarà un anno di completo riposo per la terra.
6 But what the land produces in its Sabbath wil serve to feed you, your slave, male or female, youremployee and your guest residing with you;	6 Ciò che la terra produrrà durante il suo riposo servirà di nutrimento a te, al tuo schiavo, alla tua schiava, al tuo bracciante e al forestiero che è presso di te;
7 for your cattle too, and the wild animals of your country, whatever it produces wil serve as food.	7 anche al tuo bestiame e agli animali che sono nel tuo paese servirà di nutrimento quanto essa produrrà.
8 "You wil count seven weeks of years -- seven times seven years, that is to say a period of sevenweeks of years, forty-nine years.	8 Conterai anche sette settimane di anni, cioè sette volte sette anni; queste sette settimane di anni faranno un periodo di quarantanove anni.
9 And on the tenth day of the seventh month you wil sound the trumpet; on the Day of Expiation you wilsound the trumpet throughout the land.	9 Al decimo giorno del settimo mese, farai squillare la tromba dell'acclamazione; nel giorno dell'espiazione farete squillare la tromba per tutto il paese.
10 You wil declare this fiftieth year to be sacred and proclaim the liberation of al the country'sinhabitants. You will keep this as a jubilee: each of you wil return to his ancestral property, each to his own clan.	10 Dichiarerete santo il cinquantesimo anno e proclamerete la liberazione nel paese per tutti i suoi abitanti. Sarà per voi un giubileo; ognuno di voi tornerà nella sua proprietà e nella sua famiglia.
11 This fiftieth year wil be a jubilee year for you; in it you wil not sow, you wil not harvest the grain thathas come up on its own or in it gather grapes from your untrimmed vine.	11 Il cinquantesimo anno sarà per voi un giubileo; non farete né semina, né mietitura di quanto i campi produrranno da sé, né farete la vendemmia delle vigne non potate.
12 The jubilee wil be a holy thing for you; during it you wil eat whatever the fields produce.	12 Poiché è il giubileo; esso vi sarà sacro; potrete però mangiare il prodotto che daranno i campi.
13 "In this year of jubilee, each of you wil return to his ancestral property.	13 In quest'anno del giubileo, ciascuno tornerà in possesso del suo.
14 If you buy land from, or sell land to, your fel ow-countryman, neither of you may exploit the other.	14 Quando vendete qualche cosa al vostro prossimo o quando acquistate qualche cosa dal vostro prossimo, nessuno faccia torto al fratello.
15 In buying from your fel ow-countryman, you will take account of the number of years since the jubilee;the sale-price he fixes for you will depend on the number of productive years still to run.	15 Regolerai l'acquisto che farai dal tuo prossimo in base al numero degli anni trascorsi dopo l'ultimo giubileo: egli venderà a te in base agli anni di rendita.
16 The greater the number of years, the higher the price you wil ask for it; the fewer the number ofyears, the greater the reduction; for what he is sel ing you is a certain number of harvests.	16 Quanti più anni resteranno, tanto più aumenterai il prezzo; quanto minore sarà il tempo, tanto più ribasserai il prezzo; perché egli ti vende la somma dei raccolti.
17 So you wil not exploit one another, but fear your God, for I am Yahweh your God.	17 Nessuno di voi danneggi il fratello, ma temete il vostro Dio, poiché io sono il Signore vostro Dio.
18 "Hence, you wil put my laws and customs into practice; you will keep them and put them intopractice, and you wil live securely in the country.	18 Metterete in pratica le mie leggi e osserverete le mie prescrizioni, le adempirete e abiterete il paese tranquilli.
19 The land wil give its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live in security.	19 La terra produrrà frutti, voi ne mangerete a sazietà e vi abiterete tranquilli.
20 "In case you should ask: What shal we eat in this seventh year if we do not sow or harvest ourproduce?	20 Se dite: Che mangeremo il settimo anno, se non semineremo e non raccoglieremo i nostri prodotti?,
21 I shall order my blessing to be on you in the sixth year, which wil yield you enough produce for threeyears.	21 io disporrò in vostro favore un raccolto abbondante per il sesto anno ed esso vi darà frutti per tre anni.
22 You wil have the old produce to eat while you are sowing in the eighth year, and even in the ninthyear, you wil be eating the old produce, while waiting for the harvest of that year.	22 L'ottavo anno seminerete e consumerete il vecchio raccolto fino al nono anno; mangerete il raccolto vecchio finché venga il nuovo.
23 "Land wil not be sold absolutely, for the land belongs to me, and you are only strangers and guestsof mine.	23 Le terre non si potranno vendere per sempre, perché la terra è mia e voi siete presso di me come forestieri e inquilini.
24 You wil al ow a right of redemption over any ancestral property.	24 Perciò, in tutto il paese che avrete in possesso, concederete il diritto di riscatto per quanto riguarda il suolo.
25 If your brother becomes impoverished and sel s off part of his ancestral property, his nearest malerelative wil come and exercise his family rights over what his brother has sold.	25 Se il tuo fratello, divenuto povero, vende una parte della sua proprietà, colui che ha il diritto di riscatto, cioè il suo parente più stretto, verrà e riscatterà ciò che il fratello ha venduto.
26 The man who has no one to exercise this right may, once he has found the means to effect theredemption,	26 Se uno non ha chi possa fare il riscatto, ma giunge a procurarsi da sé la somma necessaria al riscatto,
27 calculate the number of years that the alienation would have lasted, repay to the purchaser the sumdue for the time stil to run, and so recover his ancestral property.	27 conterà le annate passate dopo la vendita, restituirà al compratore il valore degli anni che ancora rimangono e rientrerà così in possesso del suo patrimonio.
28 If he cannot find the sum in compensation, the property sold will remain in the possession of thepurchaser until the jubilee year. In the jubilee year, the latter wil vacate it and return to his own ancestralproperty.	28 Ma se non trova da sé la somma sufficiente a rimborsarlo, ciò che ha venduto rimarrà in mano al compratore fino all'anno del giubileo; al giubileo il compratore uscirà e l'altro rientrerà in possesso del suo patrimonio.
29 "If anyone sel s a dwel ing house inside a wal ed town, he wil have the right of redemption until theexpiry of the year fol owing the sale. His right of redemption is limited to the year;	29 Se uno vende una casa abitabile in una città recinta di mura, ha diritto al riscatto fino allo scadere dell'anno dalla vendita; il suo diritto di riscatto durerà un anno intero.
30 and if the redemption has not been effected by the end of the year, the house in the wal ed town wilbecome the property of the purchaser and his descendants in perpetuity; he need not vacate it at the jubilee.	30 Ma se quella casa, posta in una città recinta di mura, non è riscattata prima dello scadere di un intero anno, rimarrà sempre proprietà del compratore e dei suoi discendenti; il compratore non sarà tenuto a uscire al giubileo.
31 But houses in villages not enclosed by wal s wil be considered as situated in the open country; theycarry the right of redemption, and the purchaser wil vacate them at the jubilee.	31 Però le case dei villaggi non attorniati da mura vanno considerate come parte dei fondi campestri; potranno essere riscattate e al giubileo il compratore dovrà uscire.
32 "As regards the towns of the Levites, town houses forming part of their ancestral property wil carry aperpetual right of redemption in their favour.	32 Quanto alle città dei leviti e alle case che essi vi possederanno, i leviti avranno il diritto perenne di riscatto.
33 If a Levite is the one to be affected by the right of redemption, at the jubilee he will vacate thepurchased property and return to his own home, to the town in which he has a title to property. The houses in theLevites' towns represent their ancestral property in Israel,	33 Se chi riscatta è un levita, in occasione del giubileo il compratore uscirà dalla casa comprata nella città levitica, perché le case delle città levitiche sono loro proprietà, in mezzo agli Israeliti.
34 and the arable land depending on these towns cannot be sold, being their ancestral property for ever.	34 Neppure campi situati nei dintorni delle città levitiche si potranno vendere, perché sono loro proprietà perenne.
35 "If your brother becomes impoverished and cannot support himself in the community, you wil assisthim as you would a stranger or guest, so that he can go on living with you.	35 Se il tuo fratello che è presso di te cade in miseria ed è privo di mezzi, aiutalo, come un forestiero e inquilino, perché possa vivere presso di te.
36 Do not charge him interest on a loan, but fear your God, and let your brother live with you.	36 Non prendere da lui interessi, né utili; ma temi il tuo Dio e fa' vivere il tuo fratello presso di te.
37 You wil not lend him money on interest or give him food to make a profit out of it.	37 Non gli presterai il denaro a interesse, né gli darai il vitto a usura.
38 I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and be yourGod.	38 Io sono il Signore vostro Dio, che vi ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto, per darvi il paese di Canaan, per essere il vostro Dio.
39 "If your brother becomes impoverished while with you and sells himself to you, you will not make himdo the work of a slave;	39 Se il tuo fratello che è presso di te cade in miseria e si vende a te, non farlo lavorare come schiavo;
40 you wil treat him like an employee or guest, and he wil work for you until the jubilee year.	40 sia presso di te come un bracciante, come un inquilino. Ti servirà fino all'anno del giubileo;
41 He wil then leave you, both he and his children, and return to his clan and regain possession of hisancestral property.	41 allora se ne andrà da te insieme con i suoi figli, tornerà nella sua famiglia e rientrerà nella proprietà dei suoi padri.
42 For they are my servants whom I have brought out of Egypt, and they may not be bought and sold asslaves.	42 Poiché essi sono miei servi, che io ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto; non debbono essere venduti come si vendono gli schiavi.
43 You wil not oppress your brother-Israelites harshly but wil fear your God.	43 Non lo tratterai con asprezza, ma temerai il tuo Dio.
44 "The male and female slaves you have wil come from the nations round you; from these you maypurchase male and female slaves.	44 Quanto allo schiavo e alla schiava, che avrai in proprietà, potrete prenderli dalle nazioni che vi circondano; da queste potrete comprare lo schiavo e la schiava.
45 As slaves, you may also purchase the children of aliens resident among you, and also members oftheir families living with you who have been born on your soil; and they will become your property,	45 Potrete anche comprarne tra i figli degli stranieri, stabiliti presso di voi e tra le loro famiglie che sono presso di voi, tra i loro figli nati nel vostro paese; saranno vostra proprietà.
46 and you may leave them as a legacy to your sons after you as their perpetual possession. These youmay have for slaves; but you wil not oppress your brother-Israelites.	46 Li potrete lasciare in eredità ai vostri figli dopo di voi, come loro proprietà; vi potrete servire sempre di loro come di schiavi; ma quanto ai vostri fratelli, gli Israeliti, ognuno nei riguardi dell'altro, non lo tratterai con asprezza.
47 "If a stranger or guest living with you gets rich and your brother, in the course of dealings with him,becomes impoverished and sel s himself to this stranger or guest, or to the descendant of a stranger's family,	47 Se un forestiero stabilito presso di te diventa ricco e il tuo fratello si grava di debiti con lui e si vende al forestiero stabilito presso di te o a qualcuno della sua famiglia,
48 he wil enjoy the right of redemption after being sold, and one of his brothers may redeem him.	48 dopo che si è venduto, ha il diritto di riscatto; lo potrà riscattare uno dei suoi fratelli
49 His paternal uncle, his uncle's son, or a member of his own family may redeem him; if he has themeans, he may redeem himself.	49 o suo zio o il figlio di suo zio; lo potrà riscattare uno dei parenti dello stesso suo sangue o, se ha i mezzi di farlo, potrà riscattarsi da sé.
50 By agreement with his purchaser, he wil count the number of years between the year of sale and thejubilee year; his sale-price will be proportionate to the number of years, his time being valued as that of anemployee.	50 Farà il calcolo con il suo compratore, dall'anno che gli si è venduto all'anno del giubileo; il prezzo da pagare sarà in proporzione del numero degli anni, valutando le sue giornate come quelle di un bracciante.
51 If there are stil many years to run, in proportion to their number he wil refund part of his sale-price aspayment for his redemption.	51 Se vi sono ancora molti anni per arrivare al giubileo, pagherà il riscatto in ragione di questi anni e in proporzione del prezzo per il quale fu comprato;
52 And if there are only a few years stil to run before the jubilee year, he wil calculate with him whatshould be refunded for his redemption, in proportion to their number,	52 se rimangono pochi anni per arrivare al giubileo, farà il calcolo con il suo compratore e pagherà il prezzo del suo riscatto in ragione di quegli anni.
53 as though he were hired by the year. You wil see to it that he is not harshly oppressed.	53 Resterà presso di lui come un bracciante preso a servizio anno per anno; il padrone non dovrà trattarlo con asprezza sotto i suoi occhi.
54 "If he has not been redeemed in any of these ways, he wil go free in the jubilee year, both he and hischildren;	54 Se non è riscattato in alcuno di quei modi, se ne andrà libero l'anno del giubileo: lui con i suoi figli.
55 for the Israelites are my servants; they are my servants whom I brought out of Egypt. I am Yahwehyour God." '	55 Poiché gli Israeliti sono miei servi; miei servi, che ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto. Io sono il Signore vostro Dio".
