NEW JERUSALEMBIBBIA
1 There wil be a king who reigns uprightly and princes who rule with fair judgement;1 Ecco, un re regnerà secondo giustizia
e i principi governeranno secondo il diritto.
2 each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm, like streams on arid ground, like theshade of a solid rock in a desolate land.2 Ognuno sarà come un riparo contro il vento
e uno schermo dall'acquazzone,
come canali d'acqua in una steppa,
come l'ombra di una grande roccia su arida terra.
3 The eyes of seers wil no longer be closed, the ears of hearers wil be alert,3 Non si chiuderanno più gli occhi di chi vede
e gli orecchi di chi sente staranno attenti.
4 the heart of the hasty wil learn to think things over, and the tongue of stammerers wil speak promptlyand clearly.4 Gli animi volubili si applicheranno a comprendere
e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà
spedita e con chiarezza.
5 The fool wil no longer be cal ed generous, nor the rascal be styled bountiful.5 L'abietto non sarà chiamato più nobile
né l'imbroglione sarà detto gentiluomo,

6 For the fool speaks fol y and his heart is set on vil ainy; he is godless in his actions and his wordsascribe error to Yahweh; he starves the hungry of their food and refuses drink to the thirsty.6 poiché l'abietto fa discorsi abietti
e il suo cuore trama iniquità,
per commettere empietà
e affermare errori intorno al Signore,
per lasciare vuoto lo stomaco dell'affamato
e far mancare la bevanda all'assetato.
7 Everything to do with the rascal is evil, he devises infamous plans to ruin the poor with lying wordseven when the needy has right on his side;7 L'imbroglione - iniqui sono i suoi imbrogli -
macchina scelleratezze
per rovinare gli oppressi con parole menzognere,
anche quando il povero può provare il suo diritto.
8 but the noble person plans only noble things, noble his every move.8 Il nobile invece si propone cose nobili
e agisce sempre con nobiltà.

9 Stand up, you haughty women, listen to my words; you over-confident daughters, pay attention to whatI say.9 Donne spensierate, suvvia ascoltate la mia voce; figlie baldanzose, porgete l'orecchio alle mie parole.
10 Within one year and a few days you wil tremble, you over-confident women; grape-harvesting will befinished, gathering will never happen again.10 Fra un anno e più giorni voi tremerete, o baldanzose, perché finita la vendemmia non ci sarà più raccolto.
11 Shudder, you haughty women, tremble, you over-confident women; strip, undress, put sackclothround your waists.11 Temete, o spensierate; tremate, o baldanzose, deponete le vesti, spogliatevi, cingetevi i fianchi di sacco.
12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine,12 Battetevi il petto per le campagne amene, per i fertili vigneti,
13 for my people's soil where the bramble-bush wil be growing and for al the happy houses, for therejoicing city.13 per la terra del mio popolo, nella quale cresceranno spine e pruni, per tutte le case in gioia, per la città gaudente;
14 For the citadel wil be abandoned and the thronged city deserted, Ophel and the Keep wil be denudedfor ever, the playground of wild donkeys and the pasture of flocks,14 poiché il palazzo sarà abbandonato, la città rumorosa sarà deserta, l'Ofel e il torrione diventeranno caverne per sempre, gioia degli asini selvatici, pascolo di mandrie.

15 until the spirit is poured out on us from above, and the desert becomes an orchard, and an orchardthat seems like a forest.15 Ma infine in noi sarà infuso uno spirito dall'alto;
allora il deserto diventerà un giardino
e il giardino sarà considerato una selva.
16 Fair judgement wil fix its home in the desert, and uprightness live in this orchard,16 Nel deserto prenderà dimora il diritto
e la giustizia regnerà nel giardino.
17 and the product of uprightness will be peace, the effect of uprightness being quiet and security forever.17 Effetto della giustizia sarà la pace,
frutto del diritto una perenne sicurezza.
18 My people will live in a peaceful home, in peaceful houses, tranquil dwel ings.18 Il mio popolo abiterà in una dimora di pace,
in abitazioni tranquille,
in luoghi sicuri,
19 And should the forest be total y destroyed and the city gravely humiliated,19 anche se la selva cadrà
e la città sarà sprofondata.
20 You wil be happy to sow wherever there is water and to let the ox and donkey roam free.20 Beati voi! Seminerete in riva a tutti i ruscelli
e lascerete in libertà buoi e asini.
