NEW JERUSALEMBIBBIA
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.1 Ciò che Isaia, figlio di Amoz, vide riguardo a Giuda e a Gerusalemme.

2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,2 Alla fine dei giorni,
il monte del tempio del Signore
sarà eretto sulla cima dei monti
e sarà più alto dei colli;
ad esso affluiranno tutte le genti.
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.3 Verranno molti popoli e diranno:"Venite, saliamo sul monte del Signore,
al tempio del Dio di Giacobbe,
perché ci indichi le sue vie
e possiamo camminare per i suoi sentieri".
Poiché da Sion uscirà la legge
e da Gerusalemme la parola del Signore.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.4 Egli sarà giudice fra le genti
e sarà arbitro fra molti popoli.
Forgeranno le loro spade in vomeri,
le loro lance in falci;
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.5 Casa di Giacobbe, vieni,
camminiamo nella luce del Signore.

6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.6 Tu hai rigettato il tuo popolo,
la casa di Giacobbe,
perché rigurgitano di maghi orientali
e di indovini come i Filistei;
agli stranieri battono le mani.
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;7 Il suo paese è pieno di argento e di oro,
senza fine sono i suoi tesori;
il suo paese è pieno di cavalli,
senza numero sono i suoi carri.
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.8 Il suo paese è pieno di idoli;
adorano l'opera delle proprie mani,
ciò che hanno fatto le loro dita.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!9 Perciò l'uomo sarà umiliato,
il mortale sarà abbassato;
tu non perdonare loro.
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.10 Entra fra le rocce,
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.11 L'uomo abbasserà gli occhi orgogliosi,
l'alterigia umana si piegherà;
sarà esaltato il Signore, lui solo
in quel giorno.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,12 Poiché ci sarà un giorno del Signore degli eserciti
contro ogni superbo e altero,
contro chiunque si innalza ad abbatterlo;
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;13 contro tutti i cedri del Libano alti ed elevati,
contro tutte le querce del Basan,
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;14 contro tutti gli alti monti,
contro tutti i colli elevati,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;15 contro ogni torre eccelsa,
contro ogni muro inaccessibile,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.16 contro tutte le navi di Tarsis
e contro tutte le imbarcazioni di lusso.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.17 Sarà piegato l'orgoglio degli uomini,
sarà abbassata l'alterigia umana;
sarà esaltato il Signore, lui solo
in quel giorno
18 When the idols al disappear,18 e gli idoli spariranno del tutto.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.19 Rifugiatevi nelle caverne delle rocce
e negli antri sotterranei,
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,20 In quel giorno ognuno getterà
gli idoli d'argento e gli idoli d'oro,
che si era fatto per adorarli,
ai topi e ai pipistrelli,
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.21 per entrare nei crepacci delle rocce
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?22 Guardatevi dunque dall'uomo,
