1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] I waited, I waited for Yahweh, then he stooped to me and heardmy cry for help.	1 'Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.'
2 He pul ed me up from the seething chasm, from the mud of the mire. He set my feet on rock, andmade my footsteps firm.	2 Ho sperato: ho sperato nel Signore ed egli su di me si è chinato, ha dato ascolto al mio grido.
3 He put a fresh song in my mouth, praise of our God. Many wil be awestruck at the sight, and will puttheir trust in Yahweh.	3 Mi ha tratto dalla fossa della morte, dal fango della palude; i miei piedi ha stabilito sulla roccia, ha reso sicuri i miei passi.
4 How blessed are those who put their trust in Yahweh, who have not sided with rebels and those whohave gone astray in falsehood.	4 Mi ha messo sulla bocca un canto nuovo, lode al nostro Dio. Molti vedranno e avranno timore e confideranno nel Signore.
5 How much you have done, Yahweh, my God -- your wonders, your plans for us -- you have no equal. Iwil proclaim and speak of them; they are beyond number.	5 Beato l'uomo che spera nel Signore e non si mette dalla parte dei superbi, né si volge a chi segue la menzogna.
6 You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering, but you gave me an open ear, you did not ask for burntoffering or sacrifice for sin;	6 Quanti prodigi tu hai fatto, Signore Dio mio, quali disegni in nostro favore: nessuno a te si può paragonare. Se li voglio annunziare e proclamare sono troppi per essere contati.
7 then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming.' In the scrol of the book it is written of me,	7 Sacrificio e offerta non gradisci, gli orecchi mi hai aperto. Non hai chiesto olocausto e vittima per la colpa.
8 my delight is to do your will; your law, my God, is deep in my heart.	8 Allora ho detto: "Ecco, io vengo. Sul rotolo del libro di me è scritto,
9 I proclaimed the saving justice of Yahweh in the great assembly. See, I will not hold my tongue, as youwel know.	9 che io faccia il tuo volere. Mio Dio, questo io desidero, la tua legge è nel profondo del mio cuore".
10 I have not kept your saving justice locked in the depths of my heart, but have spoken of yourconstancy and saving help. I have made no secret of your faithful and steadfast love, in the great assembly.	10 Ho annunziato la tua giustizia nella grande assemblea; vedi, non tengo chiuse le labbra, Signore, tu lo sai.
11 You, Yahweh, have not withheld your tenderness from me; your faithful and steadfast love will alwaysguard me.	11 Non ho nascosto la tua giustizia in fondo al cuore, la tua fedeltà e la tua salvezza ho proclamato. Non ho nascosto la tua grazia e la tua fedeltà alla grande assemblea.
12 For troubles surround me, until they are beyond number; my sins have overtaken me; I cannot seemy way. They outnumber the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.	12 Non rifiutarmi, Signore, la tua misericordia, la tua fedeltà e la tua grazia mi proteggano sempre,
13 Be pleased, Yahweh, to rescue me, Yahweh, come quickly and help me!	13 poiché mi circondano mali senza numero, le mie colpe mi opprimono e non posso più vedere. Sono più dei capelli del mio capo, il mio cuore viene meno.
14 Shame and dismay to al who seek to take my life. Back with them, let them be humiliated whodelight in my misfortunes.	14 Degnati, Signore, di liberarmi; accorri, Signore, in mio aiuto.
15 Let them be aghast with shame, those who say to me, 'Aha, aha!'	15 Vergogna e confusione per quanti cercano di togliermi la vita. Retrocedano coperti d'infamia quelli che godono della mia sventura.
16 But joy and happiness in you to all who seek you! Let them ceaselessly cry, 'Great is Yahweh' wholove your saving power.	16 Siano presi da tremore e da vergogna quelli che mi scherniscono.
17 Poor and needy as I am, the Lord has me in mind. You, my helper, my Saviour, my God, do notdelay.	17 Esultino e gioiscano in te quanti ti cercano, dicano sempre: "Il Signore è grande" quelli che bramano la tua salvezza.
	18 Io sono povero e infelice; di me ha cura il Signore. Tu, mio aiuto e mia liberazione, mio Dio, non tardare.
